The Daily Grind: Have you ever dressed up as a game character? {Massively}

Jul 29th 2011 4:58PM Blizzcon 2008, I attended as a Southsea Freebooter, complete with plastic sword, leather, eyepatch, a bad accent, and the intention of reclaiming Tanaris!

Then I got pounced by "journalists" wanting to interview me about Starcraft. Let me say that talking like a pirate while explaining SC is slightly jarring.

The Game Archaeologist and the Girdle of Anarchy: The history {Massively}

Sep 7th 2010 2:04PM Anarchy Online offered one of the richest environments in which to roleplay. It was in this MMO that I really flourished as a roleplayer. I made some amazing friends. I would join the Omni-Tek intell organisation, SPARTA, and help flesh out several storylines enjoyed by both clanners and omni alike.

My true love in AO became GridStream Productions( Becoming a part of this group of entertainers early on cemented myself as a Rubi-Kan for good. I've had a lot of awesome experiences, met a great group of people, learned so much about music in general, and seen many virtual smiles.

Still after all of these years.. 9 and counting, I still love Anarchy Online.

The Daily Grind: Are you going to BlizzCon? {Massively}

May 16th 2009 12:52PM Not this year. Had fun last year, though!

No, this year is another Dragon*Con year, instead.

The Daily Grind: Meeting your MMO pals in real-life {Massively}

Mar 8th 2009 10:27PM Oh yes!

I've attended Dragon*Con to hang out with my pals from Anarchy Online. I've also met some Second Life folks at a convention. I've hung out with gamer friends at Blizzcon as well.

I'll be meeting up with peeps again at PAX this year. It's always a blast to spend time face-to-face with people I've known for a long time in virtual space.

Felicia Day on meeting girls in WoW {WoW}

Nov 25th 2008 8:19PM Tcgjarhead, don't put words at my fingers, sugar cakes. Seriously. I said a "jerk in epics", you know very well that I did not generalize that everyone with epics is a jerk. Sounds like you're the one making the generalizations here.

Maybe you're being a tad defensive? Huh? Maybe just a wee bit?

Felicia Day on meeting girls in WoW {WoW}

Nov 25th 2008 4:38PM For the record. There are lots of girls(like me) out there, who aren't like this. There are exceptions to every rule.

I much rather get my gear MYSELF thank you very much. Help if you want. Don't hand me gold and expect me to "^_^" at you.

I also don't base someone's worth on what kind of gear they have. In fact, I'll totally prefer someone who works well with average gear than a jerk in epics. So, I don't agree with Miss Day on that one.

Felicia Day on meeting girls in WoW {WoW}

Nov 25th 2008 4:24PM Wait, what if you're a girl wanting to meet another girl in WOW? Do you go with the better dancer?

Bartle calls Blizzard out on torture quest in Wrath of the Lich King {Massively}

Nov 25th 2008 4:18PM SIGH, I thought we were up in arms over the introduction torture issue. Apparently not - so ignore my comments.

I've seen some people complain about that quest and don't understand why. Carry on!

Bartle calls Blizzard out on torture quest in Wrath of the Lich King {Massively}

Nov 25th 2008 4:16PM *POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

I honestly don't know what the big deal is about this quest. So I suppose I have a similar thought process of the team that created it.

The upheaval over the whole thing makes it sound like your character is holding someone prisoner in a dark room, as they sit in a vat of water, whilst you electrocute them mercilessly, and scream at them for the truth. It is nothing like that, at all. The ONLY thing you're doing is what you'd be doing otherwise - fighting and killing crusaders. Just, instead, you talk back and forth to each other.

Is a bit of text really worth getting upset over? Shouldn't we be more concerned with the Forsaken trying to poison all of humanity as a kind of reflection of chemical warfare? An alternative to the quest might have been nice? But not because "omg-torture is bad", but for FUN. I found the quest to be tedious, personally. I guess I should be SHOCKED instead.

"Beyond even that, this quest does kind of break the lore aspect of being a good guy (Alliance) or a misunderstood good guy (Horde) when you're doing exceptionally evil things." - So does, like, -every- Death Knight quest you do. That's the whole point of the entire introduction. I guess I'm just too entrenched into the gaming world to think this is an issue.
