Jun 25th 2011 8:48AM You want to talk meta? Let's look at a timeline.
First, all the various Eve-related brouhaha. The internal newsletter that became the external newsletter. Et cetera.
One of the CCP big-names posts a reply.
Everyone gets mad.
What do they do?
Spamming Jita. Shooting the monument in Amarr. Filling space with jetcans in Rens. They call them protests.
The actual result?
There's a dev post with a lot of angry player replies, then EVERYONE LOGS INTO THE GAME and engages in "various group activities", spiking the login numbers to their highest in 2011. (Despite all the 'reported' account cancellations...)
***All this, on the first weekend after Incarna's release.***
Which, on Monday, will simply confirm the success of the Incarna release to CCP and its shareholders.
Sounds like the solstice party up there is going to be a good'un.
By any HARD metrics that a for-profit company can logically look at, they are having a good week.
Dec 9th 2008 7:01PM 1. I don't think the elves or dwarves see any nazgul during their 'intro' instanced versions of the world. The humans and hobbits do, though.
2. You don't kill a nazgul in book 5 (permanently) -- you just defeat him. Like the other nazgul, he's forced to retreat back to Mordor to recover a somewhat corporeal form.
Aug 8th 2008 10:47AM It's been mentioned that they're "fixing the clipping issue", but there really hasn't (to my knowledge) been any hard information on what that fix looks like in the beta... just a lot of supposition pre-beta on what it might look like.
So I'd really like to know what's really happening.
Aug 8th 2008 9:45AM So what actually changed in beta to remove autoshot clipping? How does it work now? How the heck has this NOT been mentioned already?
Do we just fire off our specials when they come up and the autoshot fires whenever it comes up? How does that interact with Aimed Shot?
Aug 4th 2008 9:16AM I don't run AV anymore. My battlegroup (both sides) does exactly what you described 19 times out of 20. (I can sometimes 'force' some D by bribing people with the promise of healing to anyone who goes on defense at the known chokepoints.)
I dunno what I'll do when I actually need some AV badges for a PvP item.
Jul 3rd 2008 5:57PM The end result will be the same as it was in BC.
I was able to (easily) pet-tank any of the five mans prior to the level 70 instances. Of the level 70 instances, I still managed to pet-tank Durnhold and Shadow Labyrinth. I've done the first boss in Black Morass easily, the second barely (had to rez afterwards), and couldn't handle the third... but the fact that I knew I COULD do it meant we didn't wipe when the Tank went link-dead and couldn't get back in til Wave 14.
That boss was the ONLY boss on the Kara-key quest chain that I didn't pet tank.
Why? Why go through all that hassle? Because we couldn't FIND a d@mn tank.
There is no question, none at all, about whether or not I could pet-tank things like Arcatraz or Shattered Halls -- Of COURSE not. Nor could the pet take more than a single non-elite in Kara, if needed, and can't do more than slow down an elite for a few seconds on the way to a healer -- often, that's enough.
However... when you're leveling up those 10 new levels in Northrend, and you want to run an instance, and you just CAN'T find a d@mn tank, cuz they're all specced for solo questing? ...
A hunter with a Pet Tank? Really?
That's a heck of a lot better than twiddling you thumbs for another night.
Dec 14th 2007 12:27PM This is a terrible phrase:
"Warmasters and Warmarshalls in AV get a stacking +20% boost to each other's max health and damage and Rogues get some more tweaks on abilities. The fact that pre-mades are available again remains the most exciting news."
The way it's written, it looks as though AV is allowing premade teams to queue up again.
Nov 29th 2007 1:33PM Quick note: Kibbler's Bits and Sporeling Snacks will buff warlock pets as well.
Nov 8th 2007 12:08PM Meh plz.
