Sep 9th 2007 11:47AM The Horde win because they use the buddy system. Alliance loses because its every one for themselves. I've been in BGs where the Alliance wins. That happens when people work together.
You'll rarely see the Horde acting like BGs are a free-for-all.
Focus on teamwork, and the Alliance wins an even amount of the time.
May 13th 2007 12:28PM I understand the author's point. I'm not a die-hard raider, and I'm in a small guild. I have other priorities in my life than playing an on-line video game at an addictive rate.
That being said, I do think Blizzard has made improved WoW with BC. There is a lot more solo content for solo players to do.
The game's still fun, and some of the raid instances are only 5-10 man instead of the hulking 40-man raids.
I would recommend, if you're in a smaller guild joining up with another social guild, or a smaller guild to give you more options for casual raiding.
I just hope Blizzard keeps enough content in the game for the casual player to keep his/her interest until the next expansion. LOL
Mar 18th 2007 11:58AM I think the game grew stale after about a year or so of playing, and that was with all the pre-BC content.
BC has added new content, and some awesome stuff. I'd guess around December of '07 most veteran players will be bored with World of Warcraft and move on to other games.
I'd guess Blizzard is playing a financial game of equilibrium hoping that the rate of income players will match that of outgoing players.
What I'd wager is that we'll see a new expansion in the Fall of '08, or Winter of '09.
By then, WoW will have lost its luster to newer games in the market, and Blizzard will announce the development of World of Warcraft II, and that there will be no future expansions to WoW.
Personally, I'd love to see Worlds of Starcraft.
Mar 11th 2007 11:03AM How about being able to give our characters last names?
Hard to say what they can add. I think they need to come out with another expansion that lets us go to lvl 80.
I also agree with a previous post about adding new content (or instances) for levels 20 - 60.
They should also create a pvp system that balances out. Nothing like being in a pick up group against a group of seasoned pvp'ers to make you swear off pvp forever.
Perhaps a tournament based system where you actually earned some kind of pvp experience / honor ranking. Then you pit people of similar honor rankings against each other.
PvP is fun when it's challenging, it sucks when you're getting wiped.
Feb 11th 2007 12:12PM When the Beta for WoW came out, I wanted to see what up with the giant whirlpool on the world map. I tried to swim out to it and learned that you drown from fatigue. LOL.
Feb 11th 2007 11:59AM My main is named Skipomir. I usually name my characters Skippy in RPGs. I figured Skippy was already taken, so I merged it with Lord of the Rings name like Boromir and Faramir.
Skipomir was born from that.
I had two dwarf characters from Baldur's Gate named Grungy and Mangy. They became Grungimir and Mangimir.
So, I got the -mir suffix from Tolkien.
