Nov 5th 2008 1:22PM You can doubt all you want , it doesn't invalidate my experience. You're using some experience from a 70 raid ? At 70 this is not an issue at all , I don't use viper AT ALL in raids at 70 - there has been a bug with JOW stacking and replenishment is more than adequate. Even till the end of sunwell there has been zero reason to switch from hawk , but this is the 70 end game . I was talking about the 80 situation in naxx AFTER judgement bugs are fixed where things will not look so rosy once you have to spend a lot of time in Viper or end up realizing you're close to back to full mana and just wasted 2 extra shot rotations in it.
Nov 5th 2008 1:19PM have you ever looked at the ferocity talent tree at 70 ? the 4 skill points added add a little bit of survivability and hardly any additional dps to what can be specced without the talent . I've raided through most every boss in WoW and farmed all bosses in TBC barring Kil Jaeden (8% wipe ftl) and I can assure you that taking readiness to reset rapidfire /TBW will give you more returns dps wise than a bit more stamina or resist on a pet . Don't believe what I say though , feel free to test it yourself specced 51 versus 50/21 on a WWS parse or look at some results on the BM thread at Elitist jerks.
Nov 4th 2008 3:58PM You're kidding right ? our "special looking pets" are currently about the biggest way to detect a noob hunter . The talent has about as much utility as a minor glyph. I hear they're going to bump the damage of the exotic pets to make it so any raiding hunter would consider this talent , of course then it simply restricts our choice of what pet we can raid with.
You want to trade in your shadowbolt spam class for a steadyshot spam by all means go ahead , clearly being bottom of the table in competitive pvp is what you crave.
Nov 4th 2008 3:54PM Aspects off the GCD is not a hunter specific fix , it affects paladin auras as well , it's something that needed to have happened a long time ago.
The aspect of monkey dodge is to compensate for the ridiculous fact that hunters have like 2% base dodge now at 80 , it buffs nothing but in fact makes you press one more button in melee instead of having build in dodge from agi.
Outside of some basic changes to make disengage actually usable ( except when it bugs out on uneven terrain - which it does a lot ) , the rest of the changesin this patch are basically pretty standard straight nerfs. As a raiding hunter i find very very very little to cheer about in this patch .
Aspect of the viper remains as annoying as ever and will mean we will be staying in it doing half damage longer in raids. The haste nerf will hurt autoshot dps . Nothing really to feel good about here.
