Breakfast Topic: They just don't get it... {WoW}

Oct 19th 2009 11:05AM Those are great.

Another Star Trek Reference, I believe was out in Area 52. There's a NPC, I don't exactly remember his name... He shouts "THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS." Got a chuckle when I leveled my mage out there. That's of course, referencing TNG Episode Chain of Command, where Picard is tortured into thinking that there are five lights instead of four. Great, powerful episode.

Arcane Brilliance: Patch 3.3 PTR changes for mages {WoW}

Oct 3rd 2009 3:14PM It's not always equal. Actually, if they take all 5 points in Improved Shadow Bolt its better than our scorch (5% Crit vs our 3%), but I digress.

If the lock decided to spec 1/5 points in Improved Shadowbolt, and they cast that Shadowbolt, it overwrites mages Scorch still, even though that would be a 1% compared to our 3%.

Sad mage I am indeed.

Though, after reading this, I now know why all warlocks breath smell bad. Drinking pee... that's just gross.

If Cataclysm were to include a new class, what would it be? {WoW}

Sep 29th 2009 1:50AM Battle Mage! Yes! Clothy Tanks! Use their mana as hitpoints (Like a greater Mana Shield), or use that mana gimmick as a buffing and damage mitigation tree, with melee goodness.

One Tree Tanks. One Tree Mitigates Damage and Does Damage by Mitigating it. One tree just straight up PewPew melee style.

Then there would be legit mage tanks. Rawr.

Cataclysm starting zone lore and other new details revealed {WoW}

Sep 27th 2009 9:36PM Am I piecing something together here...?

-Garrosh is the new Horde Leader, and are kicking out Trolls....

-"In zone modification news, Stranglethorn will be one of the most extensively altered zones. "

-From the first sentence of the "Troll" Information on the New Character Screen:
"Once at home in the jungles of Stranglethorn Vale".

-Rumors the Gnomeregan is getting liberated...

Do these add up to the Trolls and Gnomes getting their homes back? New starting zones for those races?

I HOPE SO!

Breakfast Topic: The grass is greener {WoW}

Mar 17th 2009 10:54AM Honestly, I've played some horde and a lot of alliance. I prefer Alliance, of course, but I do have something to note where I think that things aren't completely balanced. This is, of course, 1-60 leveling.

First, horde are never quite far from home when leveling. 1-10 zones to Barrens, Stonetalon, Thousand Needles, Feralas in Kalimdor and especially in Eastern Kingdoms, they have Tirisfal, Silverpine, Hillsbrad, Alterac, Plaguelands, they're never more than a zone from Undercity. This tends to save quite a bit of time in travel, especially since Zepplins can take them from Org to Tirisfal Glades in next to no time (not even figuring the direct connection to Straglethorn Vale). Also, pre-Wrath, they could go between three major cities fairly easily, though that was understandable since Silvermoon was blocked by two level 50-60 zones.

Alliance has to jump around after STV if you take the SW route, or after Ashenvale for NEs... Dwarves have a pretty straight path, but still, the flight paths take quite a while.

Also, horde can level off instances 10-40 without ever entering contested territory (Ragefire, Shadowfang Keep, Wailing Caverns, SM x4, etc), while Alliance has only Deadmines, Stocks, and Gnomer.

I'm sure Alliance has it easier on other things somehow that escapes me. Either way, after 60, alls good, so whatever. ^.^

Hey, EU! Internet Explorer now uninstallable in Windows 7 {Download Squad}

Mar 5th 2009 6:14PM Microsoft, if you think about it, doesn't care one way or another if you use IE. You bought Windows. They don't get paid any different if you use Windows with Firefox or Windows with IE. The only reason they included IE with it was cuz it made it easier to 'make things pretty', and try to streamline peoples computer usage between windows explorer and internet explorer.

I've never quite understood peoples animosity towards IE. I use both Firefox and IE cuz I web develop: And honestly, often pages turn out looking better on IE, especially with as strict Firefox is with various CSS.

Feb 22nd 2007 12:09AM You want to know what amuses me? People repeating themselves in a manner which should honestly be ignored. All people who do this should look the other way. We read it the first time. Who really desires to read what more than half of you have posted twice? Just a thought.
