Sep 10th 2010 3:36PM The corporation I belong to in EVE is pretty cooperative and open, we don't direct people as to how or when to play. We are industrial though so our rules are basically.
1.) Don't be an ass to corp members
2.) Don't be an ass to alliance members
3.) Don't do something stupid that gets the corp into a war
3a.) We are industrial, so don't START fights in Nullsec... This is an extension of the above rule.
3b.) Just because we ask you not to start a fight doesn't mean you can't end it, if you get attacked then by all means blow the assailant into the stars.
4.) Participation in corporation/alliance operations is preferred but not required, being a shareholder is preferred if you plan to stick around for some time but again it's not required.
Aug 10th 2010 3:52PM Never been to Jita I guess?
A wretched Hive of Scum, Villainy and Lag if there ever was one.
Jun 24th 2010 11:46AM Best part is that they actually took my payment at 23:00 UTC on 6/23 so they literally took my money in the middle of a massive outage... something just doesn't feel right about that.
Dec 19th 2009 2:01AM The first virtual world that allows direct and reliable importation of .dwg, .dxf (AutoCAD) files, .blend (Blender), and Google Sketchup files for player content will win in my opinion and I have yet to see that happen. Also a standalone editor is needed, I can't afford to be logged into the world and therefore lagged all the time in order to do work.
I'm not asking even for a straight importation, make a standalone converter that uses .igs or something. Just let me use industry standard CAD tools to make items and structures.
Oct 9th 2009 2:59PM I personally also disagree with the idea of turning off chat channels in the MMO gaming.
Disabling communication in a Multi-Player just completely defeats the purpose of the game. Many MMO's are setup so that later content requires group effort and coordinated team tactics. The whole purpose of an MMO is that it is "Massively Multiplayer" and dependent on your interaction with other players in the game.
If you don't want to play a game with other people, then don't. On a personal note if I see a player in a game who is doing something (this happens a lot in WoW) and for some reason does not respond to at least a "hello," I assume they are either a gold spammer who is mindlessly grinding, an automated bot or a self-centered jerk and treat them as such.
Feb 23rd 2009 4:25PM It seems to me that the writer forgot about Burning Crusade wherein the best Agility food happened to be Mudfish Fillet, also available only through fishing. Mudfish were only found in Nagrand in the waters requiring the highest levels of fishing.
It seems to me that blizzard seems to want to push the fishing skill.
Feb 16th 2009 12:36PM I especially appreciated how you mentioned a relationship between a hunter and his ranged weapon. I chose hunter because i hunt IRL and throughout the 2 years ive played WoW have grown to love their connection to nature (excepting maybe Hemet's Lackeys in Northrend).
Anyway i feel a connection to 2 things on my character in WoW, the first is to my top 3 pets (DPS, Tank, and a special memorial) and my other connection is to my weapon. I cannot toss my Khorium Destroyer simply because it served me so well, i feel an obligation to it just as i feel an obligation to my Excalibur Crossbow IRL. One day i may get something bigger and better but can never easily throw away a weapon that has served me so well.
Jan 16th 2009 4:02PM Apparently commenter has never heard of a private page?
Jan 10th 2009 12:09PM I personally haven't run WoW directly off portable media. However i have carried around a current copy on a portable Hard Drive and just copy/pasted it onto a few different PC's at school.
Dec 29th 2008 9:48AM Technically according to Ozzy Osborne the Lich King is the Prince of Darkness (or not) I dont think too many people care that its really Nerhzul inhabiting the re-animated flesh formerly known as Prince Arthas.
