The Queue: Literally {WoW}

Dec 14th 2009 9:14PM I'm sad that Monty Python references become more obscure as the years pass. What the heck are they teaching kids these days?

Doing something nice for other players {WoW}

Sep 30th 2009 8:22PM I love doing stuff like this from time to time. I draw the line at begging (it's too bloody easy to make gold in this game) but I don't mind helping out a lowbie if I have the time. I love ideas like playr-generated quests; standing in Bloodhoof Village or Thunderbluff and hiring people to do simple gathering quests for me. Light feathers, or small eggs, or whatever. Lowbies get better-than-vendor prices (10 silver an egg, maybe?) and I get something I can actually use. Win-win.

Scattered Shots: Running solo with Tenacity {WoW}

Though I must say I run with the Bearadin for AOE grinding (polar bear named Icebreaker) these days. Thunderstomp + swipe for the win.

Apple: Welcome to the obsolete list, PowerBook G4 {TUAW.com}

Feb 4th 2009 2:27PM Ah, well, it had to happen, I suppose. Frankly I didn't know my venerable and beloved 12" PowerBook G4 -- purchased almost exactly five years ago and running like the day I bought it (albeit with an upgraded hard drive and a new battery and running like a top on Leopard) -- hadn't long-since been considered obsolete by Apple. Ah well, I expect it will shrug and simply keep working for the foreseeable future anyway, even though my shiny new unibody MBP has taken over the day-to-day heavy lifting. I've come to simply think of the 12" as an Apple netbook and it suddenly feels very modern and exclusive again :)

And I happen to know that my old G4 867 tower (a Quicksilver, I believe?) is still in daily use, and also running steady and stable, and it's much more than five years old.

Horde plans attack for Northrend on a map without Northrend {WoW}

Wrath World Event continues: Lich King attacking Orgrimmar and Stormwind [Updated] {WoW}

Nov 11th 2008 12:32AM Just to clarify one point: The fight between Garrosh and Thrall is interrupted by the attack before it's complete - neither combatant is down to 0 health. Although, it should be said, Garrosh does seem to be doing better than Thrall by a slight margin when they call the fight to attack the Scourge.

One of the coolest electric bikes yet: the EV-X7 Prototype {Autoblog Green}

My first thought was of the bike in Akira, too - but it was actually owned by Kaneda, not Akira. Otherwise, good call.

ModBook Unveiling Gallery: First Looks {TUAW.com}

Jan 9th 2007 11:08PM Ah, there's the mention :)
Thoughtspitter's hit the nail. I'm a designer and illustrator. I've owned a Wacom Cintiq and was in love with the ability to draw directly onto the screen, but the lack of real portability eventually killed it for me. My whole workflow is PowerBook based these days and I'm addicted to the mobility of it. A real, working Mac Tablet solution would be a godsend for me - even superior to the PowerBook/drawing tablet combination I have now because of the ease of use and form factor. And not having to deal with Windows in a tabletPC...
