Mar 20th 2008 8:42PM Unless it's with people I know, I use the in-game looter. Regardless of what that group is trying to do.
"This item is better than what I have, I'm going to roll need."
"We pass and then /roll."
"I'm going to roll Need on this item, if you need it then roll Need."
"Pass, Mike, we're going to /roll."
"Nobody else has passed yet, I don't want to be ninja'd. I'm using the Blizzard looter, if you want to pass, that's fine, but I'm not. There is no reason not to use the Blizzard looter, nobody can ninja this way."
"blah blah blah stubborn ignorance blah blah blah."
Mar 13th 2008 8:52PM Why not just make it so that premades and pugs never mix? Both camps are happy. People who want loose games get them, and teams only fight other teams.
Because we all know that premades are about team-on-team combat, and not rolling pugs over and over for near-free honor.
Feb 18th 2008 3:38PM Exactly.
The only people who call them "welfare" epics are people who are unhappy that it's not just the no-lifers that have epics anymore.
For someone who has nothing to do but play WoW, having BT on farm status is barely an effort. For people who can only play maybe a few hours a day, or a few good sessions a week, saving up honor an tokens from battlegrounds, especially if they only play for fun and don't "grind" them, is an epic undertaking worthy of being rewarded with epic gear.
Jan 25th 2008 10:22PM Also, in before the "without lives" shitstorm.
Jan 25th 2008 10:21PM Personally I like the simple loot system of "the people that can benefit from this all /roll" You win, you win; you lose, you lose.
Sure it can lead to cold streaks, where you don't get any loot, but it also prevents permanent cold streaks, where the cockbag who doesn't have a job or school gets astronomical DKP bank and just takes every item he wants.
DKP is a horrible loot system unless there's something special in place to prevent people without lives from just taking everything from people who have to work.
A few guilds I've been in have used weekly DKP. Everyone has 500 DKP, they can spend it however they want, on any item they can use (no we didn't let Mages roll on Perdition's Blade), however much of your 500 you want. But, there is no way to gain more DKP, for any reason, ever. You get your 500 for the week, and that's it. DKP reset every week during weekly downtime. It worked really well.
Jan 20th 2008 8:06AM I don't really have one. My work schedule is too unpredictable to set an hour (or even a general time) when I can get on and do some runs. That's why I can't raid.
Although, in my earlier years I raided from eight at night to about four in the morning. We'd do a full MC clear, then the "too damn late" ZG crew would get together and do our thing.
Oh god it was great times. Stupid work.
Jan 17th 2008 5:52PM Personally I only do things in the game that are fun. I don't ever "grind" for anything. I did a bit of every zone before I hit 70. If there was a quest I was getting frustrated with, I dropped it, or an instance that I couldn't get a group for, I just didn't go to it. I also spent a pretty good chunk of my time fighting with other players, as I roll on PvP. I used up all of the zones, and hit 70 just as I ran out of things to do. It worked out perfectly for me.
Now it's all about PvP baby.
Jan 16th 2008 12:02AM I still want their Undead models.
Jan 15th 2008 7:22PM You waste points on Gouge and not even a whole Poison talent, but don't get Riposte?
