Smacked with the banhammer, or: It came from the Customer Service Forum {WoW}

Apr 2nd 2007 12:34PM I've gotten a single warning, for 'inappropriate language'. Sad thing is, it was generated by an add-on!

MazzleUI has an annoying feature - the first time you set up your UI with every character, it yells about your character having a 'Mazzlegasm'. One of my bank alts in Silvermoon got reported for this.

The author of the addon has stated in no uncertain terms that he'll never remove the (pseudo)offensive language, so I've taken to Mazzleling in Ragefire just to make sure no ones ears get burned.

Breakfast Topic: Hero classes {WoW}

Mar 29th 2007 11:19AM I think everyone should keep in mind that the first of April is this Sunday. I've gone into a fugue-state of disbelieving everything until the middle of next week.

Mar 22nd 2007 5:00PM Uhm....my wife and I are totally biased as Auctioneer Jaxon was named for her and Officer Jaxon (the thief catcher) was named for me. Having a friend on the Dev team does pay off sometimes!

Breakfast topic: How do you pronounce "Medivh," exactly? {WoW}

Mar 13th 2007 10:41AM Always thought the name of the Night Elf island was Tel-DRAS-il...

I was amazed to find out from a developer friend that instead its pronounced TEL-dra-sil...which just sounds like a dandruff shampoo to me. All the more reason to play Horde!

Social guild events {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2007 7:53PM You can have your cake and eat it too, if you build your guild right.

I'm the guildmaster of Imminent Rueage, a Horde-side guild on Thorium Brotherhood. We run bi-monthly Horde Assistance Days (HADs), where we descend into a zone and run trivia contests, races, Horde and Go seek, and assign our guildies to help folks with quests. We switch the zone up every time. Lots of giveaways of items and bags and trade goods for anyone who comes to the event (it helps to clear out our guild bank).

This kind of event is the best PR that a guild can have. Folks see what kind of people we have in our guild and that naturally brings like-minded folk to join us. This doesn't dampen the other focuses guild can have. We have a serious itching for PvP and a number of Arena teams going at it right now. We were raiding ZG and AQ before the expansion and will get to the end-game content at a casual, slower-that-raid guild pace.

But we get there with a core of people who are altruistic and friendly and helpful to not just the rest of the guild but to the server in general.
