Heroic Shadowfang Keep and Deadmines will be released with Cataclysm {WoW}

Sep 1st 2010 4:48PM Look at it another way: both Wrath and BC had over 10 dungeons spread over 10 levels worth of content, whereas in cata we're getting almost the same amount of dungeons spread over half the leveling range.

In essence, even the lower level cata dungeons would still be worth doing in non-heroic versions at the level cap, where as you couldn't say the same for Ramparts in BC, or UK in Wrath. I think this is a good thing.

The Queue: A WoW.com debut {WoW}

Jul 20th 2010 6:39PM Everything I read about cataclysm makes me think that blizz may be setting up the story for some sort of faction deconstruction. Could the game possibly be heading toward a 3 or even 4 faction model? Or possibly setting up for WoW2?

Because as awesome as I think it is, I know that it'd be a ton of work for their development staff to split up the factions from what they are now.

Win a copy of "The Guild Leader's Handbook" by Scott Andrews {WoW}

May 11th 2010 7:16PM I'd love a copy of this book. My poor poor guild has been hurting since Ulduar and we need to give a good kickstart again to ramp up for cataclysm :)

WoW.com reacts to Cataclysm raid changes, page 2 {WoW}

Apr 29th 2010 2:55PM @ Heather

I can understand your feeling of being involved in something bigger than yourself, but being part of a small army is exactly why I don't think the current 25m/40m raid system all the way back to vanilla was very interesting to me.

Sure it feels good when you down a raid boss for the first time in a big group, but to be honest, I felt pretty good the first time I killed Loken in HoL as a fresh 80. The idea of progression can be applied to any party or raid regardless of size.

All of this is opinions though, and part of what makes the wow community so strong is the vast diversity among its players. This is why I think this won't be the end of wow, because they are still offering the 25m playstyle to those who still want it, but they aren't making it mandatory for everyone.

Apr 29th 2010 2:39PM I am totally for the change, as it seems to fit the idea that our characters are heroes a bit more. Frankly I always felt like a sheep in the flock when it came to 25s, but in tens, I played a vital role in the group. To me, that's what makes an encounter epic.

If you look at epic stories, how often are there 25 main characters in one group? I mean, if Frodo needed 24 friends to dump the ring in Mt. Doom his journey wouldn't have been nearly as epic or interesting as it was in the end. This is why I think this change is one of the best changes I've seen in WoW to date. It's making our characters feel like the heroes we're supposed to be at level 85, ya know?
