Mar 12th 2009 6:05AM Hrm - as Spark said the Devils in the details. A couple of points about the patent application.
It specifies "three-dimensional, computer-generated graphical space." Until very recently all that WoW and other games did was to use perspective tricks to give a two dimensional screen a three dimensional effect. It's a visual illusion and would be difficult to prove that it is three dimensional since it all occurs on a 2d surface.
If they do though it then opens up a huge can of prior art worms against the plaintiff, specifically any game that used three co-ordinates graphically in a multi-user environment. So, a multi-user graphical game that uses a 3d setting? Dune (the harvester carriers) 1992, Warcraft (the terrain changes) 1994, Warcraft II (terrain and some flying units) 1995 and the C&C franchise all spring to mind.
Jan 27th 2009 10:42AM Absolutely agree - have the MT tank KT and the two adds if they have the gear for it - MT can't be frost blasted. Only problem with this is that the adds can sometimes conceal void zones so be careful of placement.
On the Heroic version we've found that sometimes when KT MC's he'll aggro reset, so the tank needs to be ready to taunt and front load threat again if the aggro reset happens.

Yup fire was what I meant - was raiding latethe other night and not quite awake in work when I wrote the original comment ; )
Dec 1st 2008 11:48AM I'd advised avoiding starting the Son's of Hodir quest chains until you've farmed all the eternal life you want as it 'phases' over half of the Searing Guardians away : (
Nov 14th 2008 4:38AM Some of the transfers available are quite odd, in particular the Magtheridon --> Emeriss option. Both Magtheridon and Emeriss are notoriously unbalance with the Horde outnumbering Alliance on those realms by a ratio of 3:1 or more. Why Blizzard chose to open transfers from one server with a overwhelming Horde majority to another with the same issues and not to open up transfers from an Alliance heavy server to a Horde heavy one is uncertain.
For the record both Magtheridon and Emeriss were listed on Warcraftrealms.net last week as having Horde % of total server population in excess of 90% - I would say for both that this seems inaccurate with the figure being closer to 75-85% Horde on each.

Nov 6th 2008 4:17AM On Bloodboil I (the paladin tank) just pop evasion trinkets at the beginning and tank him the whole way to the first fel rage. Once that hits I Divine Shield to remove the debuffs and then tank him until death (usually getting to pop the two minute CD trinkets again). Seems fine tbh. BT content is ridiculously easy now with one ZA guild I know of going 6/9 BT in their first night. Enjoy the epics folks :)
Oct 22nd 2008 4:35AM In WoW vanilla, TBC and (it seems likely from current reports) WotLK, Blizzard have pushed back, postponed or just ditched features (in some cases minor, in others major) from each. To say otherwise displays a rather basic lack of knowledge about the game you're defending. Warhammer and WoW are very different games with very different design goals in terms of the game play focus. Unless WoW is redesigned from the ground up I'll continue to play War for it's PVP and RvR, but I'll continue to raid PvE on WoW since War doesn't even try to compete with WoW's PvE dominance.
Aug 11th 2008 5:05AM What Threecubed said - Alex's "4 down while immune" startement is at best exaggeration with the current Beta build and even in the build it was possible to pull it off (almost 3 weeks out of date at this point) you would have better odds winning the slot machine grand prize in a casino on a single roll then pulling it off. I'm guessing that the blogger got killed a few times by Ret paladins (glorying in doing damage for once) and Mages, got frustrated and wrote this article. Let's not forget that in TBC some classes were already capable of two shoting other classes, especially if the victim had little to no resilience.
