Mar 9th 2012 1:34PM SoR rubbed me wrong too. The only thing I hear people doing is using SoR on their old account or their trial one and getting a free 80 toon on their main account (since you can account transfer with your free realm transfer). I haven't heard of one person coming back...
I wish Blizzard had some type of reward system. I would add to the token idea free 80 toon (limit 1 per year, made at the base level of the expansion, so 85 say 2 months after pandas come), or a free server transfer (I think we should get 1 free one/month anyways with higher transfer restrictions gold/item wise). Maybe even thanks for paying 12 months, here's 1 free.
Feb 24th 2012 11:12AM As a WOW veteran, I have wanted to try the ironman challenge, but I can't imagine trying to do hyjal at lvl 80 in only white gear... Even if I pick the class I used
Feb 24th 2012 8:59AM 1) I think the permaban is kinda rough, but I'm not against the idea. My opinion is if you have a higher ilvl equipped in that slot OR one of the same name (exception on weapons for dual wielding classes), you lose your +100. This allows sidegrades at same ilvl, and stops a lot of people from passing gear.
2) This is fixed in MOP, already announced.
Feb 20th 2012 12:00PM Q4TQ: Is there any reason why tailoring is "gated", limiting you to so many crafts a day/week? Examples: Dreamcloth, Glacial Bag, etc. Why doesn't it follow the Truegold model that you can trade the bars? (I know you can theoretically make infinite cloth now with Chaos orbs, but 8 for 1 cloth? Seems inefficient) I don't see how the argument "It's more abundant" applies since Blizzard limits non-tailor cloth farming by 50%, bandaids use the cloth too, and there is plenty of leather/herbs/ore, why aren't they limited?
Feb 20th 2012 11:49AM My trick is to /who a capital city and find a lvl 1 (those are usually bank alts since they haven't leveled) and invite them. Then no one is really harmed.
Jan 31st 2012 1:46PM Bear reforging is easy, all to dodge (or mastery for bigger shields if you are going hybrid).
Jan 24th 2012 3:04PM I know of at least 2 reasons they don't like p2p stuff.
1) It costs them money for every byte going to other ISPs/networks. There are interconnect fees between these networks they negotiate, so it costs a couple pennies to transfer data.
2) (more likely) The ISPs lie to you when they sell you X mbps Internet. They run a high bandwidth hub to an area, and people share this hubs bandwidth knowing that not everyone accesses the Internet at the same time. That way they can sell like 250mbps+ on a 100mbps connection hub. If multiple people start downloading and hogging this pipe, your neighbors don't get as much of that window and they complain. Then it costs them more to put a bigger pipe to you.
Dec 14th 2011 1:54PM I have a question about the app code available part. Do you think that Blizzard will enforce this? I know it has just about killed Carbonite, and I feel like sites like Mr. Robot and The Undermine Journal will be severely affected by this. (I don't see Mr. Robot going to open source now that they were trying to go freemium, and I thought TUJ had a paid service also.) I understand Blizzard trying to not allow people to profit from their product, but I feel like they are killing more quality products with this.
Nov 23rd 2011 2:21PM I find skinning makes ton. I get like 6g each, and you can sell tons. And if you have a lw , you can make them heavy leathers and upconvert them to pristine hides. (50 leather=1 hide)
Oct 22nd 2011 1:12PM As someone with a surplus of gold, I see no incentive to buy the cub... After you have all your toons with a cub, then what? I would rather have something I could use (like game time).
I think game time is a perfect compromise to combat the gold sellers. Most players will buy it, farmers/hackers don't really want it, and Blizzard is still being payed for all players to play (instead of me paying the monthly sub, Joe did).
