Jun 26th 2007 12:45PM From their temporary splash page...
"Wowhead is temporarily down for maintenance.
We'll be right back."
Jun 19th 2007 1:07PM I'd like to see a web interface to Auction Houses, so that you can see what's in the AH without logging in. Historical price averages would be great too, so that you could see what a fair price to charge for your items were, and how they prices have changed over time. Even better would be the ability to buy off the AH from the web!
I would have thought that the reason this wasn't done is because Blizzard didn't want that information available to players. But given the creation of the Armory, that lets players check out each other's builds and gear, even cross faction, it's pretty clear that Blizzard has nothing against exposing information like that.
So come on Blizzard, give us a web interface to the AH!!!
Jun 17th 2007 5:53PM So, here's the question:
Does it let you inspect characters from the other faction?
Jun 3rd 2007 7:43PM "Tell her ... how you like it when she wears her hair like her troll."
Um, this is a joke, right?
I mean, really, if your gf/wife is wearing her hair like her troll character, I don't think you need to worry about getting her to play... maybe she plays TOO MUCH.
May 29th 2007 8:35PM "At least Lebowski didn't die in the house this time," she said. "The last time he invented something, he got bodily fluids all over our family rug!"
Yeah, and that rug really tied the room together.
May 29th 2007 2:27PM When I hear people say an item is "gay", I just assume they are saying that item likes other items of the same type.
Oh, and @100:
"The fact is the more we use the terms that everyone hates so much, the less power they have over people's emotions."
You're absolutely right. I'll burn an american flag and a bible in your honor.
Mar 23rd 2007 9:48PM OK, so since I asked the question, I should answer it too I suppose.
My main is a hunter, and the area I think they are overpowered in is burst damage out of the gate. Aimed Shot/Arcane Shot will get me around ~3.2k as an opener if I crit both of them. Then ice trap and repeat. They're overpowered vs. melee, probably not so much vs. casters. But I'm not really a PVP guy, so it's hard to say.
8. Paladins, Warlocks and Rogues are not overpowered...leave my classes alone. Why would you ask this question? Blizz management can hear the word "n3rf" even at a whisper.
Cuz I'm a troublemaker ;)
Dunno about pallys and rogues, but I do have a (low level) lock that I've been messing around with, and I am amazed at how ez mode they are when you're low level soloing quests. If that easyness scales up to the cap, well, I'd say they are overpowered for sure!
Mar 18th 2007 4:08PM Ancalimon has the truth of it... geekery is just obsessive enthusiasm about a particular thing/activity to the point of having a hard time talking about anything else. Sure, a lot of WOW players are geeks, but so is that guy at the bar who knows all the stats of every baseball player in the major league. Some geeks just aren't called geeks, but I say if it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck... call it a duck.
Feb 24th 2007 11:50AM As someone with a hunter main, I think that's a horrible idea. It's bad enough having conflict with rogues over weapons and rings, but then add armor on top of that?
Unless you give hunters plate armor with AGI as well... ;)
Jan 31st 2007 5:10PM Actually you do. If you're still in combat and you target something in your shot range you'll auto-shoot it. Can be bad in raids or if you hit someone of the other faction by accident and he and his friends get angry.
Or someone you have targeted closes to melee range, so you drop a freeze trap and move out of melee range... and immediately break your own trap when you go into auto shoot mode.
I've been burnt by this a number of times.
