Teen girl runs away to be with felon she met while playing WoW {WoW}

Mar 30th 2007 10:35AM u simply cant protect kids against themselves in an international/xstate virtual enviroment.
ofcourse, if Blizzard was sued, it might lead to segregated servers, based on age. 0-12 server, 12-15 server, and 15+.
but i wouldnt like to see it, as i doubt sexual predators would find wow a good "hunting ground" for their perversions.
any chatroom or meetingplace forum site having to do with dating or some such has alot more direct and in most cases, graphic descriptions that very young kids often try flirting with in an effort to push boundaries or create alternate identites.
our guild has mostly adults (+18) but we have a few mascots ofcourse, in the 14-15 bracket. we look out for them, and they are safe in our guildchat/enviroment, and any sleezy behavior would be met with a furious raid of its own. but ofcourse, the guildchat is R rated, very often...then again, when i was 14-15 yrs old, i was no lill angel, and profanities, or sexual statements amused me then too.
there is a huge gap between humorous commentary and sexual inuendo ( excuse spelling, not my native language)

Forum post of the day: Statements that make you leave a group {WoW}

Mar 30th 2007 10:15AM Classic pug statement: "hunter, dismiss yr pet"

bbye grp.

any such statement does it for me, along the lines of "ill instruct u all in how to play"-thinking.

/i do recognize that there are plenty of ppl that mite need such instructions, but i dont grp with them. ever.

Nihilum downs Vashj {WoW}

Mar 30th 2007 5:07AM btw, i realize the fight takes tuning, but, how high is the bar now, for raiding tier 1 TBC? i mean, how many guild will have the dedication from 25 raiders, to prepare for hours, farming tons of consumables, to learn this figh in endless wipes, before having a shot at killing her, then repeating this kill, week after week, to get to hyjal. i seriously doubt alot of the "raidguilds" of vanilla wow, will get past her, and most "casual" raiders will stop raiding / playing wow, due to the entry-level and demands are so intence now.
this is a huge problem, imo.
u need months of no-life to get there, and how many of us are willing to do that?

Nihilum downs Vashj {WoW}

Mar 30th 2007 4:59AM @16 - actually, they need to farm her a while, to go to Hyjal.
she dropped 4 Vial's of eternity, and that only completes the quest for the 4 that got a vial, not all 25 raiders.

its the quest: Vials of eternity, from CoT, that completes the SSC part of Hyjal attunement.
(which i think sux, everyone should get the item, like heroic badges, since everyone "killed" her)

Revisiting respec costs {WoW}

Mar 27th 2007 10:26AM but, i agree abt the "are u sure" option when respeccing. making a single mistake is very unforgiving atm.

Revisiting respec costs {WoW}

Mar 27th 2007 10:25AM I have to agree with the replies here, respec-costs are fine as they are. u choose a role to play, in a raid, or PVP, and in general, and that should be the task u spezialize in.
If you really really want to play both tank & healer pally, or dps / healer shammy, or dps/healing preist, do what one of our lox did, and make a second toon, with the alternate spec.

another problem would be, when tanking leather drops, which drood gets it? the feral tank, or the healer that doesnt have any decent tankgear? and tier sets, do the hybridclasses get 3 sets each?
it would be unmanageable and messy, and would lower tyhe quality of play in raids, if everyone was a jack o'all trades.

Nihilum recruiting: females need not apply [Updated] {WoW}

Mar 24th 2007 7:19AM Nihilum isnt a social guild, its a raidmachine. in that respect, i dont blame them for callously eliminating distractions, based on what ever criteria they find appropriate.

that said; i raid with a irl gorgeous 2nd raidleader, and shes a good player, and she has her following, i guess ;) its never been a source of bickering, nor arguments, then again, the average age in my guild is over 25, so i guess that solves most of the issue.

Breakfast Topic: Easiest Heroic {WoW}

Mar 23rd 2007 11:17AM 7 - funny too see ppl claiming a contradictary view, and in same breath stating their experience to be...strat at 60?

like a poster said, hunters can nuke as hard as lox, BUT drop aggro, and keep muking with low thrat, and also misdirect. my grp is a lock, prot war, s preist and mage (arc/fire) and me (mm hunter)

i havent finished 2nd in any run we do, yet.
the lock has 1200 damage, and the mage abt 1k, unbuffed. the spreist has abt 800.
i have abt 2300 rap and 23% crit.
with less synergy and buffs, properly played hunters beat the casters.
its the buffscaling and debuff boss-system in raids that bounce the casters up on dmg in 25 man runs.
and, pets stay upm in 90% of the heroic content. thts the added 15% dps, compared to SSC and Gruul, and all that.

The vicious race for Primal Nether {WoW}

Mar 23rd 2007 11:05AM nah, i like it the way it is. if ppl cant b bothered to work for it, why should they get uber gear?
or uber cash?

lvl a craft, get yr skills and gear and go run heroic a few times, and u will eventually stack up the nethers. its not all that hard, but its hard enough to make it balanced with the rewards atm.

if its BoE, ah-players will get amazing gear by buying gold only. im happy, no, elated, to see that not being an option.

we(my g m8's)roll on nethers if we need them. i dont atm, so i pass for our MT who still needs a few.
after which, ill roll need for m8's, that arent in the run, but need gear (boe) for guildprogress.

in a few months ill prob b selling some of it, to outsiders. by then, all crafters will be doing that, and its fair then too.

Breakfast Topic: Easiest Heroic {WoW}

Mar 23rd 2007 8:13AM the tempest runs are pretty tricky... i have to agre tho, slave pens is easymode sofar. ive done it 3-4 times, and we even misssed the drids NR buff, didnt have pots, and only 1 healer, and it still went fine on quakky.
steamvault was easy as well, imo. trick is to be abit creative with tactics. we did it with a shadowpreist as only healer, and it went fine. but it requires 5 good players, to do that, both gear and skills.
we did shadowlabs with that same grp, and it was doable, wiped twice on the ogre, and twice on Murmur, but it worked out.

the thing all heroics have in common is. u need a mage. sheep 1, kite 1 or more with frost/fire is imba.
being a hunter, i have a pretty unstabile CC in my freezingtrap. it tends to get a heartbeat resist very quickly, but MD is awsome for CC, and hunter dps is the strongest dps availible for heroic runs, in my extended experience.
