Nov 19th 2009 6:23AM My first MMO was dark age of camelot. I was a total noob, I saw my brother in law play, and I was like 'omg awesome, virtual world!!!'.
The first time I played, there were no big exclamation mark on pnjs, no map, no help tutorial, so I read the manual and I learned the interface, started running around killing rats and stuff, until.. I was lost :D When I wanted to go back to the camp, I didn't see it anymore, and I didn't know where it was. That when I met a guy who helped me get back and tell me about the game, the equipment, the skills and classes, and he even gave me some gold so I could buy some armor, and it was awesome.
The lack of assistance made me fall in love with the game.
I think that is what's missing in new MMOs, we are told what we have to do right away, we have a map and quest guides, so we don't need anybody to figure out the game, and we can solo almost everything.
Making a game easier doesn't make the experience better !
Jul 21st 2008 4:16PM I really hope the maximum view distance will be bigger. There was a time in the TBC beta when the distance was unlocked and we could see very, very far. The landscape was beautiful, especially with flying mounts.
But they nerfed it a few patches before release :(
Jun 30th 2008 4:05PM I hope the mage will be the best dps class in Wotlk. The reason I rolled a mage is to be the best dps in the game, and I get really frustrated to see warlocks and other classes outdps me, with lots of crowd control abilities. I want to nuke !!
May 20th 2008 8:42AM Aaannd I live in Europe, so no, I fail. Sorry guys!
May 20th 2008 8:37AM I am interested in Age of Conan becAUSE I AM A BARBARIAN !!
May 4th 2008 2:38AM Yes, I am in closed beta too, and the game runs ALMOST smoothly. There are still some bugs to fix, and it may not be a very smooth release, but I don't think it will be like AO again.
Someone else said it, they patched the CBT with a more buggy version than before, and I get the impression they work with 2 different versions to correct the game, that's weird :)
Mar 13th 2008 2:48PM I hope they redo some of the buildings, because there's a moment when I was looking at tyr's hand in the snow, same buildings and all. That's not very fresh !
Aug 28th 2007 8:49AM I hate playing a paladin. I leveled one on wow beta(!) and it was one of my first chars in wow, but I stopped at lvl20. And now I have one lvl33, but it is just SO BORING and no fun to play at all. Not for me.
I also leveled a shadow priest up to 35 and it's as boring as a paladin (exept that you aren't reduced to a healbot at 70 like the paladin).
Aug 25th 2007 5:48AM I love world PvP. I don't mind getting ganked if I have some very good world PvP experience, such as city/fort takeovers (guild based, if my guild takes it over, it's my guild's city !), no lag with 200 people fighting at the same time (not like on hillsbrad, at least the last time I saw such a thing).
But right now, all I see is getting ganked at lvl25 by 2 lvl70 with arena gear, and those f**king arenas. Arenas are NOT a MMO feature. This is a FPS/RTS feature !
I'm very angry with the arenas, because I don't play 15$ a month to have this kind of gameplay. If I want to do 2v2 or 5v5, I go play quake 3, it's the same, and it's free. I want some bloody 50vs50. I want epic PvP, not some stupid deathmatch, which has nothing to do with a war or the lore !
I want bounty hunting (for the big pvp players and gankers), that would be a fun way to gain money !
