Jul 19th 2007 5:12AM I love this series, the first time I rolled a 'lock I only got her to 24, and just couldn't figure out how to play her effectively. Eventually deleted her to make room for BC alts. Now with ICftB I rerolled a 'lock again but I've been ever so much more effective, even at such a low level (so far) after reading Blood Pact. Thanks for the contributions Elizabeth, and all you commentators. Keep up the good work.
Jul 17th 2007 1:49PM Out of curiosity, how on earth do you create a guild where only your own alts are in it? How does that work? Don't you have to send a live invite, meaning you have to be logged in to both characters at the same time? Sorry if I'm being dense about this...
Jul 17th 2007 12:01PM Really excellent article. I rolled a Dwarf pally once but got bored quickly, it just never synched with me, though I'd often played pallies in RPGs. Now when BC came out the first character I rolled was a belfadin, and somehow it just all clicked. I started out Ret, but moved more towards Prot and then respecced full Prot at 50. Just being able to take on around 8 mobs my level and walk away with full health and mana... it's an awesome feeling. I suppose when i hit 70 in a few levels I'll spec Holy if my guild needs me to do so - though we have 2 other tankadins in Outland right now as well...
So far as my feelings towards Ally pallies, I don't really have an adverse opinion. Other than my already low opinion of Allies. But that's just because they suck compared to the Horde. :-P
I have heard, and still hear, lots of whining about pally specs being so nerfed and pitiful and all... but I don't really see it myself. Maybe that mostly comes from disgruntled Ally pally players?
What does irk me is the typical response (as I've seen in the comments to other articles of this series) to belfadins - that we haven't been playing pallies long enough to be an "authority". Pfft. Such are the complaints of a little mind.
Jun 15th 2007 4:55PM I am a more than happy customer of Jame's. His Horde guide is for the most part dead-on. I like how he breaks things out so if you don't want to do a particular instance you don't have to, but then he'll give you a good spot to grind on to make up for it.
I'm waiting with bated breath for his 61-70 guide...
Jun 14th 2007 9:26AM I see patches of wildflowers and itch to pick them... and wonder why the little gold circle didn't show up in my minimap...
Jun 1st 2007 2:02PM C'mon people, this is golden comedy here.
Suddenly, Seth's eyes widened in shocking realization. "...I should play a Warlock!"
Jun 1st 2007 10:28AM Lots of "wow" moments. First starting out as a Tauren, wondering where my buddies were, learned that they rolled Forsaken, and figured out the map... "There are TWO whole continents??"
Recently post-BC, rolling my current main pally and seeing the captive Naaru under Silvermoon City. Seeing a broom go by, busily cleaning streets, thinking "wow they really put alot of effort into the ambiance of a magic-hungry race."
The respeccing said pally from Ret to Prot and making a bad pull in a graveyard in Western Plaguelands - taking on 8 mobs my level or higher and surviving with no pots and full health (granted, seriously depleted mana) - I did a happy dance. My char and me together.
Then the classic "wow" last night seeing a devilsaur in Un'Goro. I'd heard of them, seen the screenshots, but it really doesn't do justice until you turn around from a recent kill and stare up... and up...

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.
Have fun with it. Can't kill the mobs as each and every hit roll is a zero. However, every heal is a crit.
May 18th 2007 12:02PM "Stackable items retrieved from mail will automatically stack in your inventory"
One wouldn't think such a simple thing would make my day. And yet, it has. I am all giddy with anticipation of easier mail management.
May 15th 2007 12:44PM I've been a casual player for a year now. Bit of an altoholic, so i didn't level any of my chars very high - my main was a Forsaken 41 frost mage, and I had another Troll 41 hunter.
Then I rolled my BE Pally, and just fell in love. Already got her up to 49, and that's still casual playing. I enjoyed Ghostlands immensely, and like many others wish Bliz would prop up the other starting areas some...
But yeah. I get to play my Pally without that unclean feeling that I got with an Alliance alt. :-D
