Nov 8th 2008 10:49AM It's a nice change for lazy warlocks, hunters and other classes with summonable pets. But, last night I was boosting my friend in LBRS, summoned my water elemental because it was a rather big pack. I sheeped a target and then went to cast frostbolt at a different mob. BUT the water elemental cast waterbolt at the penguin thus breaking it >.

Nov 7th 2008 6:57AM I must have one, to sell :)
Nov 7th 2008 6:53AM I'm a student, saving money not having to buy 2 weeks subscription would be very useful :)
Nov 4th 2008 11:00PM "Instead of making the rogue untargetable, Killing Spree now causes all players to lose targeting on the rogue and causes the rogue to be unstoppable during its duration."
was rather annoying using killing spree live then to get hammer of justiced...
"Shadow Dance no longer increases the cooldown on various abilities that require stealth (Sap, Garrote, Ambush, Cheap Shot, Premeditation, Pick Pocket, and Disarm Trap)." Nerf shadow dance pickpocket.
"Glyph of Shiv replaced with Glyph of Vigor, which gives 10 more extra energy if you have Vigor."
So with the glyph, Vigor and (4) season gear, you'll have 130 energy? SICK!
Nov 4th 2008 10:57PM "Now only works on Frost spells with a chilling effect (was all Frost spells)"
So if you Glyph frostbolt so it doesn't slows, will the proc no longer occure off frostbolt?
If so then frost specc would be abosultly even more pointless for pve raiding than it is already.
I just hope that glyphs doesn't affect this.
Oct 22nd 2008 5:10AM I strongly disagree with this change. The point of the epic flightform or epic mount quests was to give a quest chain unique to that quest that was, well, epic. Make the class feel special. You are rewarded by rolling this class by viewing this specific set of content.
Giving the mount at 61 and 71 makes the quest chain obsolete and no longer neccery. Players who have earned their mount before this patch through the quest chain will feel cheated because players afterwards without it (only the warlocks and paladins till WOTLK) would pretty much all train it at the class trainer.
You can argue that you still need the riding skill to actually use it, and that the quest chain would be a cheaper alternative. But this is WoW. The vast majority of players prefer to earn their goals in the least amount of effort possible (fresh level 70s opting to gear up with season 2 and not heroic 5 man gear even though in some or alot of cases the blue or heroic epic gear are statistically better for PvE [with mp5 and hit etc]).
Another argument in surport of Blizzard's choice for this to happen, is that in all 3 quest chains you require to run atleast one 5 man dungeon and atleast one fairly challenging encounter. Players who are socialphobes will be able to earn a class-unique "mount". But this is an MMORPG, where you play with many other players (if you like it or not). By the time you have the quest you should have atleast some friends. So badger and beg them to help you with your quest, if they refuse to help you then they're probably not really your friend anyway.
Another point someone may make in favour of this move is that with WOTLK loads of people will be in northrend doing northrend instances and bumming out at level 80 idling in orgrammar till their guild gets enough 80s to start raiding. Therefore the only people existing around 55-69 who'd be interested in coming along to thoes instance will be minimal I(excluding the plague of death knights). But, with the achievments system inplace with Dungeon crawling and lore master of X there will be some players bombing about grinding thoes achievment points. They will be likely up to assist you (in exchange of getting the strat/Dire Maul/Sethek Halls/wherever the pally one is set).
That's my opinnion. Feel free to criticise it if you want. I don't really care if the only thing you can pick on is my grammar, spelling or punctuation. It means you agree with my opinnion.
Sep 24th 2008 10:16AM " If you didn't hate Hunters then, you'll hate them in 3.0. If you hated them before, you'll hate them even more."
I don't hate hunters now, but I hate them in 3.0.
Guess what, I am a hunter, I hate my own class.
Disengage is nice, but if you're rooted or snared, ofcourse it does nothing but it blows your cooldown. Exotic pets are glass cannons as pets. The new pet talent trees mean that dps pets are now more fragile as you talent them to do damage, not be 'tanky'. Live server you can get away with getting a cat with max rank stam and armour. Marksmanship is same old, chimera shot isn't that nice. It is a disarm but it's on a long cd like every other disarm.
On the test server the only enjoyable PvP specc was explosive shot, with Lock'n'load. Beast mastery just looks pretty but it's just rubbish. I assume you can get away with it if you had immense gear, otherwise, beastmastery is no longer the newb's IWIN specc.
Sep 12th 2008 7:45AM To start my rant, I am bitter I havn't had a Beta invte yet.
I didn't even get a Beta invite for TBC either. Does not help that "loads" of people apparently get Beta invites, makes assumingly the vast majoraty of people who still havn't got one feel alone and small because of the way Beta key hand out waves are reported. Alot of these Beta keys will be honestly wasted on players who have absolutly no idea what they are doing, and all they'll be doing is "LOL PREMADES!!!". Fair enough, this will make them easy kills in world PvP.
The reason why I would very much like a Beta key is that in a week I go to University for the first time. I have absolutly no idea if when WOTLK comes out I'd have time to play it and submerge myself into the atmosphere that existed when TBC came out. You know, going into a new land with your closest mates on WoW, two manning 5 man quests etc, generally having fun playing new content. The closest thing I can for ensuring I experiance that for sure is to absolutly ruin that aspect by playing the Beta on my own wih no one I know or actually care about.
I think blizzard could try and invent a system next expansion that was more fair on Beta key hand outs. Like a partial contest, that you have to work a bit to gain the key. If blizzard have time *Demand* a 4 paragraph summery of the expansion from each Beta tester, as that's what the Beta is for, testing, not pleasuring yourself over new talents spell and premades. Would also be nice if the 'suck-up-to-a-GM-to-get-Beta-Key" was removed. Gives such an unfair advantage for *entire* guilds being given Beta keys because one of their guild members happen to work as GM as their job. IMO if any bosses are killed on test servers or beta or even alpha servers, then their live server 'world first kills' should be ignored.
In conclution to my rather wordy rant (wordy in comaprison to standard wowinsider comments), I am bitter I have not got a Beta key yet. I probably wouldn't have gone to this effort posting this much words if I had a Beta key. I would be playing the Beta if had a key not trolling a wowinsider article about pratically nothing exciting and high-hope building. I appoligise for any bad grammar spelling or just plain wierd typing, I type rather quickly and like many people on the internet, can't be bothered to check over it.
Oh yes, I have been playing private servers for WOTLK but they're not the same. They're just normal WoW private servers with a buggered up spawned northrend, the new talents that don't work and no new level 75, 80 spells. They're fine if you don't mind exploring an empty lifeless northrend and total destroy any atmosphere.
Sep 1st 2008 1:58PM Death knights can tank or dps. Death knight use a 2er or duel wield.
What I want to know is:
What is best for tanking? Duel wield or 2her?
What is best for raid dps? Duel wield or 2her?
If duel wield, slow or fast weapons for
a) Main hand?
b) Off hand?
What stats should a DK aim for? Is it a class highly crit dependant or is it more solid base ap with a certain amount of crit? Is it like a rogue dps wise where it relies on white dps more than special attacks or is it more like a retradin?
