The Queue: Wrath of Wrath of the Lich King {WoW}

Aug 5th 2010 3:42PM I've also received emblems, satchels, loot and orbs in the mail from instances. Takes awhile, like it waits for the soft reset of the instance to occur, and maybe the loot in the mail is due to some other issue, but it seems it's usually from instances where I left quickly after the last boss.

The Queue: Elevator ride {WoW}

Feb 5th 2010 5:53PM "I'm willing to bet that you'll be receiving Satchels from 70-80 instances in the Dungeon Finder once Cataclysm hits. I don't see them giving you an obsolete reward."

How is the gear you can buy with them emblems any more obsolete than the gear you get in a bag at level 30 and throw away 10 levels later? Theoretically, they could tweak the level requirements on that gear, give you more emblems than just 2 per run, and let you buy epics to level in and discard at 85...

Not saying they will, but anything they put in a bag is going to be obsolete quicker than T10 pieces...

Feb 5th 2010 5:47PM http://www.wowwiki.com/Dungeon_Finder#Dungeon_finder_instance_breakdown

It shows the dungeons broken down as they are found in the dungeon finder, with the level requirements for the dungeon segments you can queue for. It also tells you which boss must be killed for it to give you the DF reward...

Account Administration encouraged not to restore hacked characters {WoW}

Jan 8th 2010 11:40AM How many employees do you think your $15/month pays for? It takes my $15/month and several thousand more just to staff a support team that can handle all the issues that we have. And you think that you being a cheapskate, special type that is too good for an authenticator entitles you to force Blizzard to redirect my $15/month to restoring your account?

I want them to focus my $15/month on improving server performance, eliminating lag in Dalaran, fixing bugs, adding content and improving the game. Not restoring accounts for people that won't use an authenticator. It's your choice to not use an authenticator, you pay the price don't expect the rest of us to subsidize you choice to not use the tremendous security option Blizzard has invested in.

Account Administration encouraged not to restore hacked characters {WoW}

Jan 8th 2010 11:19AM Everyone that has an authenticator should be pleased with this change. Now the support personnel time that was being diverted to handle these restores can be used to help us with the issues that are out of our control. If you don't want to be offered a care package, get an authenticator. For those of us with authenticators it means our $15 per month will now be invested in resources that are of greater benefit to us.

I'm all for mandatory authenticators. Or how about $1 or $2 off our monthly service fee if we have an authenticator? Let the people raising the cost of support because they don't want to be "inconvenienced" by an authenticator pay for their "convenience".

Using the Corehound Pup to secure Guildbanks {WoW}

Dec 19th 2009 5:04PM If you're a member of a guild and have the ability to withdraw gold or items from the guild bank, the guild has every right to require you to have an authenticator if you wish to retain those privileges.

If you're a guild leader a hacker can not only raid the guild bank, they can disband the entire guild and your guild members are entitled to expect you to take greater precautions.

If neither of the above apply to you, then the question is this: If you are hacked do you intend to take up the time of Blizzard's support to research your loss and restore your items? If you won't be calling them and taking up time and resources that could be better spent addressing technical issues and other problems that are less avoidable, then by all means it's your choice. But if your account is hacked and you do plan to call them then all the rest of us do have some right to ridicule you. Anyone that says they will NEVER be hacked because they are so cautious is a fool that is betting with other people's money. Everyone that refuses to get an authenticator and is subsequently hacked increases the cost of support for this game. Diverting money and resources from making the game better to restore accounts that could've easily been protected by simply using the authenticators they are now giving away when you consider how much they think a non-combat pet is worth monetarily...

The Queue: Ink Spots {WoW}

Nov 3rd 2009 11:22PM As a Horde player in vanilla I'd have gladly traded you your travel to DM for the Horde travel to MC and BWL. At least you didn't spend months making the trip to DM like everyone did going to Blackrock Mountain to raid. The trip there for Horde was as troublesome as Alliance to DM, only we had to make it far more times than any Alliance had to go to DM.

But ZA sort of made up for that...

The Queue: Ink Spots {WoW}

Nov 3rd 2009 11:11PM Yeah, it's easy to get there now. But all the mobs outside instances used to be elites. And that's a lot of elites to clear just to get to zone in...

Disenchanting in dungeons in patch 3.3 {WoW}

Oct 28th 2009 9:38PM Sure the party cleared the mobs in the instance to get that far, but think about it... it took them longer to get me to that one herb node than it would've taken me to fly around to 10 or 20 nodes with the same herbs on my own...

How many blues and epics might an enchanter get on their own in the amount of time it takes to clear an instance? You see, the enchanter is more in need of a group, than the herbalist, skinner or miner. My herbalist and skinner never gather in instances, unless we happen to be standing around waiting on someone that is afk, drinking or rezzing and I'm just idly clicking around on my screen. There's just no good reason to fall behind the group for a piece of leather no one needs or 1-3 herbs that are easy to farm outside the instance...

It's quite similar to the situation with Pristine Hide of the Beast, leather you could get anywhere readily, with or without a group, by the Hide? The only efficient way to get it was with the help of 9 others... And the only efficient way to get Abyss Crystals and Dream Shards is with the cooperation of others.
