Winter Olympics 2010: Ghostcrawler promised me a moose {WoW}

Feb 26th 2010 2:17PM Beyond the initial joke(s) before the Olympics started, Blizzard has spent the last 15 days pretending there is no Olympics, and certainly no interest in them by the player base.

It would be nice if this finally prompted an "official" response, but I doubt that'll happen.

WoW Insider Show Episode 124 feat. Daryl Brewer and Fatty {WoW}

Jan 12th 2010 11:19AM Great show. Love Adam's rants (on tanking and other things), and I found the lore discussion incredibly interesting.

I "knew" the Onyxia quest chain had been removed, but never really grokked all the ramnifications. That sucks. It truly was the defining lore quest chain for the Alliance.

A lack of Alliance pride {WoW}

Dec 9th 2009 11:43AM I find the "alliance are all 12 yr olds" stereo type to be quite amusing. Of course, you know who's spreading this stereotype? The horde 12 yr olds and basement dwellers who wish they were still 12. :P Okay, maybe 14.

But seriously, think hard about the teens and tweens that you know. What faction are they more likely to be attracted to? The normal, default, "good guys"? Or the "evil"/misunderstood/oppressed badasses?

You know, because all the teens prefer Luke over Vader. :P

A lack of Alliance pride {WoW}

Dec 9th 2009 9:15AM I think because the horde tend to be portrayed as the underdogs or the downtrodden, their situation is more likely to inspire fiercer loyalty.

To draw a horrible real-world parallel, you don't see many rich white Americans proudly shouting their status to the world, but there's a lot of black/hispanic/ethnic/cultural pride and solidarity....

That being said, I do have an alliance symbol on my van. :) And no, I'm not a rich white American. I'm a middle-class white Canadian. :P
