Machinima 101: The basics {WoW}

Sep 5th 2007 3:36PM Thanks! Please keep more coming. I've been wanting to do Machinima since Red Vs Blue came out years ago. Also, the comments were helpful as well.

What would make you leave a group? {WoW}

May 16th 2007 2:53PM Level 70 warrior: Can Priests Heal? (Alliance, Shadowsong).

Blizzard fights ingame spam (and the addon meant to stop it) {WoW}

May 9th 2007 1:51PM At peak time I've received about 5 spams an hour. I just ignore them, because Blizzard has not, in game, made it a notice to people on how to report spam. If I have to open a ticket to flag one of 5 people to send to a GM which takes me MORE TIME than to simply ignore the whisper (and go about typing /w playerx) there is no reason to do so in instances or if I am farming or any number of circumstances. Blizzard needs to make the issue of trying to bust spammers a public thing IN GAME. Not on websites like this, or even their own website, since the wow community is sprawling with people, a little flash or something would work better. I wish we knew the mechanics more, because wow is one of the most friendly mmos around.

And I think an under lvl 10 option would be a great idea for a few months while somone thinks about another solution. Sellers are ambitious people, so there always has to be a creative defense. Waylay them with having to get their toons to level 10 before they can spam. Then slap them with banning periods if thier names are obvious "just for buisness" crap. Tis an ongoing battle, I say.

More item tweaking going down on the PTRs {WoW}

May 4th 2007 11:49PM any idea if the Scryer epic dagger has been changed? I mean, 1 dps lower doesnt matter to me since its only an off hander, but the dagger itself could use a slight buff. Doesn't seem too epic to me, and all the time i put into farming for it.

Why is the Horde suddenly so good at PVE? {WoW}

Apr 25th 2007 2:46PM Additionally, the Horde has been ruling AV. A year ago, before the server-swapping PvP, Alliance was absolutely dominant in that area and severely lacking in the others. Alliance pugs in WSG and AB are much better than they were before. This may have to do with the new content and gear as the Horde being outnumbered 3:1 on most servers have to catch up to the Alliance's (overall, not end-game) gear. Since gear and gems and world buffs that give the benefits of Spirt Shards and Hayla tokens are practically given to the alliance, Horde has that disadvantage. For example, I was in a group on my 70 Alliance toon and one nelf single handedly took every tower in the Bonewastes without any competition while we stepped out to repair and the timer had just expired. The horde is not used to pvp world buffs, and usually ignore them, especially because it's a numbers game and they know it can easily be a long and then futile battle . Maybe horde has been more interested in the new PvE sets, and Alliance has gotten sick of PvE and has turned Pvp. My horde toon ignores WSG and sometimes AB, but messes around in EoTS and loves AV. The shift might make more sides more balanced, except for the world PvP which is clearly slated for that server's highest population which is usually alliance.

WoW Moviewatch: Huntard vs. Goliath {WoW}

Apr 10th 2007 1:41AM In one a little over an hour that means somoene can get, what, 100g, 2-3 purps, a bunch of greens and blues alone? That's basically like soloing a 60 level instance alone and hitting all the bosses, which isn't possible with a single 70. In addition, this hunter can invite someone else, like an enchanter or a leather worker to split the loot with and lessen the time it takes to take down the mob. Kinda unfair...but Hunters are the most played class...they don't see the nerfstick much.

Reader UI of the Week: March 15 - 30 {WoW}

Apr 5th 2007 1:50AM What is the user interface that has portraits appear like they do in WC3 (in moving 3D)? I want that one.

Reagents: The high cost of living in Azeroth {WoW}

Mar 24th 2007 2:37PM Being a 70 rogue, I have no complaints about reagent use. The extra 5 seconds it takes to pick pocket a mob before killing it can double my money for the kill and possibily give me poison reagents or even a super health pot. Vanish is harder to use in the end game instances like Shattered Halls and the fel orcs will keep coming right at you, but we still have Sprint, and Vanish usually works for boss fights. The only thing that sucks about being a rogue is that we are easily replaceable and a dime a dozen. I would love a reagent and a new ability that would make sap last longer than 30 seconds.
