The Daily Quest: LFG {WoW}

Jan 10th 2011 2:34PM I have never dropped group because of a single wipe, though I have dropped after other people dropped, because trying to 3-man something with an infinitely long queue might be futile.

I also try to be patient and explain fights before they happen, and despite this, oftentimes there is just one DPS who will never "get it" or generally doesn't know how to play their class.

Sometimes I love getting put with a hunter because they know how to CC and do it amazingly. Other times, they don't know how to CC at all and often end up being a burden.

The Daily Quest: LFG {WoW}

Jan 10th 2011 2:20PM As a warrior tank newly running heroics, I now refuse to run them unless the majority of my group consists of guild members (any typically, it's a full guild run). I've just gotten too frustrated with DPS that don't know what they're doing, constantly breaking CC, dying for no reason (stay out of the fire, people). I've had reasonably good luck with PUG'd healers, but if you're DPS, don't expect my queuing up for a random to help your queue time, since I've just been let down too many times.

Curse, WoW Interface band together to block WoWMatrix {WoW}

Apr 14th 2009 12:32PM A lot of your complaints seem to be about the old Curse Client (which I admit, was of poor caliber). You should really try out the new one.

Here's a youtube video of it in use, so you can see the difference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2rlCSJqGNM

This version of the client (3.0+) has been in development for roughly two months, by three people. We've reengineered nearly every single code module and redesigned every single user interface. It is our hope that users switching from WowMatrix to the Curse Client will discover an addon manager with an improved user experience, and a more robust feature set.
Here's a short list of features that only the Curse Client can offer:
1. A flexible multi-game (and multi-game-instance) management system. Need to manage addons for your WoW PTR install? No problem. Also play WAR or Runes of Magic? We've got you covered.
2. Release preference support. With the Curse Client, you can choose whether to be notified only when a new "Release" is available, or install the latest "Beta" or "Alpha". Unlike WowMatrix, we never assume anything with the Curse Client - we let you decide.
3. Change Logs. Ever wondered what the author changed or fixed in the latest release? No problem. Just click the "Open Change Log" link in the addon info panel, or right click on the addon and select "View Change Log".
4. Modern User Interface. The Curse Client has been built to support modern UI standards, offering list sorting, column resizing and descriptive icons.
These are just some of the features we've worked very hard to bring to the new Curse Client.
Believe me when I say that all of us at Curse agree that the old client was substandard in nearly every way. For some time now, it has been our primary directive at the company to deliver a true market leader in addon management, and we have worked tirelessly to achieve that goal.
Give the Curse Client a try. We think you'll like it.

Addon Spotlight: PitBull {WoW}

Jul 1st 2007 4:39PM Tekkub, because I haven't posted PitBull on WoWI or ui.worldofwar, likely. Also, I don't prefer WoWI or ui.worldofwar over curse.

Addon Spotlight: PitBull {WoW}

Jul 1st 2007 4:00PM Cool stuff, I'm glad PitBull's recognized.

AddOn Spotlight: Cartographer {WoW}

Mar 27th 2007 4:21PM RogueJedi86, MetaMap creates a whole new world map, which I find inefficient. Cartographer, on the other hand, manipulates the ingame World Map, which is much more efficient. They likely won't cooperate nicely with each other, but I doubt you'd want to keep MetaMap around after you've tried out Cartographer.

Aaron, there are many options to change the look and feel of the map. That is one of them.

AddOn Spotlight: Cartographer {WoW}

Mar 27th 2007 3:12PM Hello friends, ckknight here, author of Cartographer.

Glad you like the addon. Too bad you didn't realize that Cartographer _does_ have instance loot capabilities, like AtlasLoot's "what drops where" functionality. You just open an instance and click on a boss to get the list.

Oh well, very glad you like it.
