Mar 28th 2012 8:50PM I would really like to see some indepth talk about how rogues did this expansion, where are faults were and what specs shined and what cooldowns were useful and which were lackluster. I ran in probably over 50 raids just counting boss kills this expansion . I want to say rogues did okay most of the expansion, I just never felt required and sometimes felt outshined by other classes. Firelands I felt I was getting better, and by Dragonsoul, I feel we did pretty decent.
Feb 8th 2012 9:55AM Seeing as how Druids are now getting 4 specs, I hope one day they add a 4th spec to the rogue class as a tank. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind seeing us getting a tanking spec, although increasing our melee usefulness is always a good sign. I just feel shortchanged when death knights and warriors can do things I can not, and still do pretty much the job a rogue is required for.
Dec 29th 2011 3:52PM I really didn't feel needed most of the expansion to be frank. Save for a couple of gimmick fights. Not being able to compete for #1 dps also sucks, but tbh there were plenty of progression kills where my dps ended up being within 1000-2000 dps of everyone else. Which is pretty impressive when we are talking 15k-30k
I remember where raid groups were talking about switching buffs around, and it kind of sucks that i have no choice as rogue for switching buffs up.
Things that I did enjoy this expansion. Being useful in heroics early on with interrupts and stuns(fuck these should work on bosses for half duration at least or putting a buff on the boss reducing % of next hit), Evasion tanking Chimmy, interrupting anything(although with a ele shaman wind shear is like 1000% better, and i dislike not being able to be on the targets I should drakes on halfus and thanks for hitcapping tanks!), having to use mind poison on Maloriak(cause our dps wasnt an issue 1dk, 2hunters), tanking the beam on atra could be fun(hunters seemed to do it better though along with life grip), Nefarian(taking less damage on you was fun). Cho'gall I felt like I was hurting my team on this fight, too much target switching, and staying on the boss didn't feel like it helped, i really just felt useless for this fight, till maybe P2.
In firelands? I can disarm traps? great!, is it useful? not too useful. beth'tilac, man i want to buy a taunt. baleroc, i can do nothing for your crystal yay!, alys, your adds weren't stunnable til the nerf go fly a kite, felt like they had too much HP too, rhylolith, another reason to go combat, but i have daggers which are rogue like. Domo meh, ragnaros, meh fun fight though!
In dragonsoul? Its nice to be able to top the charts, we will see once everyone gets gear though, 10 man takes too long to get daggers I think, by the time i get a legendary, we will be weeks away from dragon soul nerfs. Thats killer right there, heroics don't drop more gems i hear either.
Dec 15th 2011 12:46PM For a brand new launch, I like the way SWTOR handles it. Gives your most interested players(pre-orders), access to the game early, and thus when launch day comes, you don't have 2.2 million players trying to play at once, because the majority of the players have been playing already and thus are not trying to play the first few days from launch 24/7.
And as far as economy? Early MMO economies suck, never enough cash in the system and everything is overpriced. Give it 1-3 months for everything to normalize though.
Nov 14th 2011 2:20AM Yeah, I am not happy with 4 daggers dropping myself. Its kind of silly. Although I got my daggers in T11 on the first try(first omno kill and first cho'gall kill), which is different from my last raids(Kara and ICC) where my daggers dropped later then I wanted.
My raid is saw feeding frenzy at least 3-4 times from shannox and the hungerer about the same.
Nov 14th 2011 2:17AM I run assassination. I ran combat daggers in BC, mostly cause the other rogue in the guild ran swords. Less competition. I wanted to run assassination back then, but it really wasn't viable.
Anyhow, yeah the only utility I ever really seem to use is Shiv, for enrage. I am pretty awesome at doing adds on Rag, but I feel other classes can be quite smoother at that phase.
I am PvE mostly. The nice thing about playing a rogue is we don't change much. The bad part is, we don't change. Mages got heroism, dks and warlocks got a battlerez. Warriors got a raid wall. Rogues don't seem to get anything useful as patches go on during an xpac, and when we do "smokebomb", it isn't even useful in PvE encounters or when something is useful, its nerfed.
Sep 3rd 2011 12:16AM I want to tank on my rogue, I enjoy my rogue, I enjoy the playstyle. I don't want to be a warrior, dk, druid, or pally.
I want to be a rogue, and tank.
Aug 26th 2011 6:36PM I think a better solution for Chaos Orbs is make every profession have a way of making them with certain profession based mats. Like take some volatiles, some various mix of (herb, cloth, bars, leather, dust) and some other mat(maybe something that drops off every boss and is buyable via JP, and put a 1 day or so cooldown on it.
Aug 25th 2011 3:28AM Likely a little jealous that hunters and mages got bloodlust, and warlocks and dks got a battle rez. And rogues imo got the shaft on neat stuff.
Aug 25th 2011 3:24AM My group is working on heroic progression so, going sub is not likely on Rhyolith, and Shannox, I rarely have to deal with traps, I just dps tunnel and avoid traps and blow Shannox straight up. I did try to disarm traps a few times, but usually it is just a waste of time.
I guess I just don't feel like rogues bring anything to the table. I mean feint and cloak of shadows seemed to work for everything back in tier 11.
Although, now that I look back, I just got a heroic main hand dagger last week, and am promptly blowing up the charts, spiking to 45k or so on a pre pot pull. Neck and neck with our mage, hunter, shadow priest, and warrior. So that makes me happy, before that I was #5 or #6 on dps since I never replaced my daggers with heroic t11.
