Report: 'major retailer' confirms Xbox 360 price cut {Joystiq}

Jun 30th 2008 3:59PM Has there been any price cut on the Arcade model yet? For those of us with perfectly fine hard drives but funky disc drives, a new Arcade model might be just what the doctor ordered.

Ask WoW Insider: Ding before Outland? {WoW}

Jun 30th 2008 2:38PM Someone should inform this guy that you can go into Outland and kill the mobs there without picking up quests. Would seem to be a lot easier than simply hanging around in Azeroth.

Activision stock reaches a new 52-week high {WoW}

Jun 18th 2008 3:54PM One of the favorite things about the company I work for (another well-known game developer) is that it's independent and privately-owned. Working for a publicly-owned company is annoying; always worrying about your options and whether or not you might get laid off if the stock dips 5% and the shareholders get all pissy.

That said, I sincerely doubt anyone at Blizzard really cares very much about their share price. As I understand it, there's revenue-sharing in place for them, so everyone who contributes to WoW is getting some intimidating salary bonuses.

As far as anyone who plays WoW worrying about the share price of Activision-Blizzard, why would you? It doesn't make a whit of difference to the game.

Today's Amazon Gold Box deal: Crisis Core for $26 {Joystiq}

May 29th 2008 1:59PM Great! Now more people can experience the joy of mashing the attack button a thousand times, then casting Cure, then mashing the attack button a thousand more times.

I thought this was the worst combat system Squeenix ever designed until I played TWEWY.

No new character slots for Wrath of the Lich King, says Bornakk {WoW}

May 19th 2008 8:39PM I believe multiple hero classes were originally talked about before WoW even came out, and that their disappearance from the original game was a source of some contention. I don't know if they ever got specific about their plans, though.

Azeroth Security Advisor: WoW is watching you, part 2 {WoW}

May 19th 2008 3:22PM I believe Warden is also in Diablo II now, at least according to some comments on boards. Unfortunately it makes maphack all but impossible to run, as far as I can tell. I was never a duper/townkiller or anything in D2, but maphack itself was always worth the risk of banning, simply for the utility. I recently reinstalled D2, though (it's all my laptop will run), and now I'm stuck wandering around for ten minutes in a level trying to find the stairs down. :(

Macro for a prettier WoW {WoW}

Apr 24th 2008 8:18PM Interesting. I did this macro at Telaar and now can see all the way to the first couple of towers at the Kil'Sorrow fortress. No noticeable framerate dip.

I think Blizzard should enable some way to let those of us with modern computers have a basically infinite view distance. It'd be neat to see all of Nagrand when you're up flying around.

Patch 2.4.2 notes released {WoW}

Apr 23rd 2008 12:09PM I guess it will be curious to see if this affects any lvl 70 weapons or if it's mostly levelling weapons.

Patch 2.4.2 notes released {WoW}

Apr 23rd 2008 5:28AM If a mob or enemy NPC casts Polymorph on you, you longer get healed by it. So no more last-second saves when Talon King Ikiss polymorphs your lowest-HP party mate. It doesn't affect anything a player can do to you.
