Jan 30th 2012 4:27AM The waves in Halls of Repair were part of boss encounters, so it's a misnomer to call them trash, no matter how annoying they were.
Jul 30th 2011 3:04AM I think the core problem in "monoclegate", and something that Blizzard has worked hard to avoid, is that their different currencies are all connected. Because there is a way to convert among ISK, PLEX, Aurum, and $$ (RL currency), they have only one effective currency, with different ways to earn it.
In that situation, the exchange rates fluctuate when demand fluctuates, or when the currency supply fluctuates, or for various other reasons, which can really screw things up.
Blizzard has worked to avoid this by having multiple currencies ($$, gold, Justice/Valor points, honor/conquest points, etc), and limiting the way those currencies are related. The currency with the biggest potential to destabilize WoW is $$, because there's so much of it outside the game, so Blizzard works especially hard to limit conversions - aka not allowing gold to be traded for $$.
They also fragment the system, so that screwing up the economy on one server/faction doesn't screw things up across the entire game.
Oct 28th 2010 12:20AM Some Bad Romance moves would have been much better than the Poker Face moves, *especially* the boob/crotch grabs. Gotta wonder if that's gonna interact with the profanity filter, cause it probably should.
On the other hand, this dance choice is so lame that they almost HAVE to be getting ready to release the long-promised dance studios!
Oct 10th 2010 10:41PM Hunters are the ones switching from Mana to Energy.
A don't RP, but I can't see this HUGE change to the fabric of the world as just a personal change. When 4.0.1 drops, everyone is going to wake up (or log in) and nothing will work right. Everyone is going to "forget" all their talents (talent reset), so everybody is going to have to re-learn how to use their abilities. As a world-wide change, I don't think you could RP that any other way without acting like a self centered twit.
Of course, if that's part of your character, than this is a perfect chance to show how the world really *does* revolve around you. :-)
Jul 10th 2010 3:34PM When I watched the video the first time, I thought it was okay, I like the artist (decent voice, nice look, nice live/machinima mix), but the song left me kinda flat, but it definitely made an impression.
So I went to look at it again, and got curious about the original "Imma Be" song by the Black Eyed Peas, and went to watch/listen to that, and now I know what it was missing.
"Imma Be" had two very different singers (Fergie and Will.i.am), with different voices (lyrically and musically), but "Imma Tree" only had a single singer.
I think it would have been better if she'd had a male tree doing the Will.i.am parts, rather than trying to do it all herself. The song would have had better balance, and the video could have easily been changed to support the second vocalist.
I think it was a damn good first effort, and I think there's a whole lot of "If it ain't close to perfect, it sucks!" QQing in these comments.
May 15th 2009 4:14PM With Blizzcon tickets harder to get than Thori'dal (), I think most people will hold off on making travel plans until they have their Blizzcon tickets in their hot electronic hands.
Add to that the fact that it's FRIDAY AFTERNOON and Blizzard hasn't announced an on-sale time for the tickets, and it's looking like another Blizzcon Ticket Fiasco in the making.
And I don't even *want* a stoopid ticket! I just want the goodie bag!
Apr 27th 2009 8:58PM I had fun farming eggs (got the Polymorph: Rabbit spell), and encountered only a little bit of whining along the way. I figure if they wanna "camp" a spot, good luck to them, but the eggs respawn often enough that first-come, first-snatched is my baseline behavior.
The most fun I've had with it so far was being bunnified, then going up to the Argent Tournament and jousting from the back of an Elekk. I was hard to see, and the shields around me were practically invisible. I'll need to do that again and see how it works for jousting against other players.
Apr 23rd 2009 1:00PM Breakout in WoW?! I loved that game!
(Yeah, yeah - I'm OLD)
Apr 23rd 2009 3:54AM The new fishing dailies are great, but the biggest buff to fishing in 3.1 is the way you can always catch *something* on each and every cast! Real fish (versus weeds and other junk) also seem to be more catchable in 3.1, which has me fishing on all of my questing characters, not just the designated fishers.
Today's grey junk in my reward bag was a modern painting that vendored for 25G. The only way it would have been easier was if the quest giver would have taken my word for what the ghostfish's secret was. :-)
Apr 15th 2009 7:05PM They still aren't displaying the Alliance Vanguard or Horde Expedition reputations, though.
