Dec 18th 2008 10:31AM Friendly reminder for all healers planning for Malygos fight: do NOT use any other unit frames such as x-perl or grid. (spoiler a little) The third phase of the fight will make every one drop on vehicules and you will have an easier time to target and to visualize the combot point if you are using the default blizzard UI.
Dec 17th 2008 10:56AM I'm resto shaman and I kinda agree that druid tanks are more challenging to heal in 5 men; but certainly not impossible. Part of the problem could be from the instances design (I'm looking at you, AN); also part is from changes in the expansion that we are not yet used to, since we leveled to 80 so fast. For me, it took a while to let go chain heal: I love my healing lasers. I guess that druid will have a period of time to adapt, but I'm confident that those who are staying feral tanks are the ones who truely love tanking and will eventually be fine.
Beside the problem of aggro, some healers find druid tanks to be mana sponge. The gears available for the druid tanks at the moment is very different. If you look at my guild bear tank's gear, you would think that he's a rogue with a feral staff. Leathers like in the TBC with high armor and dodge are just not easy to find. For the same time, all other tanks share the same plate with same stats, that are much easier to get. I'm not sure if druid tanks like the way they are geared at the moment, I would very much like to hear from them.
Sep 26th 2007 5:39PM Finally, some shaman love... little but still better then nothing.
1. talent free 2hander is much apraciatted. Now I can get some farming going on my resto shaman finally.
2. SR with damage reduction is a weird change. PVE Enhancement shamans with this talent are not really worried that much about taking damage: generally, if they OT, they just Ankh... It would be nice if SR can make shaman immune to fear or polymorph or both. I know, we can always dream.
3. Spirit weapon is nice bonus; it will help a bit, lets just wait and see. It is still too early to tell.
4. The new talent taking place of the 2H talent in enhancement tree is nice, the only real excitment. A well geared enhancement shaman should have lots of crit and will basically keep the shock spell at 40% at all time.
Overall, it is definitely a good news. But I have a feeling that Bliz is not really addressing the real issue. Anti-CC/CC, mana issue, totem fix, aggro management are not even mentioned; and I think that these are the biggest problems for the shaman class at the moment.
Also, is it just me or our grounding totem is working a bit weird now?
Sep 13th 2007 5:49PM lol, i'm a resto shaman too and i'm the main healer for the kara group. if it wasn't the earth shield+mail armor+shiled, i would be dead pretty often too.
btw, does it count as a death if ankhed? cuz it's kinda our shamans' aggro dump. sad but true.
Jul 15th 2007 9:51PM once my water walking crit and I turned into Jesus
Jul 14th 2007 2:43AM the one lore that is FOR SURE DEAD but I would personaly love to see coming back, in one form or another, is Grom Hellscream, chief of the Warsong clan. why? play the WC3 and u'll find out.
Jul 10th 2007 2:25PM Shamans are the MASTER of elements, why do they ONLY get lightning spell and only nature damage? They should get fire/nature spells. Don't tell me to drop a fire damage totem... they are useless
Jul 8th 2007 10:44AM sry guys... GOD I HATE HAVING HUNTERS IN A 5 MAN... may be most hunters on my server don't play that well, but bad experience just makes me "huntardphobic". I'm a healing shaman, everytime I see a hunter in the group, I cry a little. Of course, a good hunter is a very versatile element in the group, but a bad hunter is just asking for trouble.
(BTW, I DID group with a mele hunter in BRD run and they DO exist. Worst run ever...)
