Death Knights receive unique voices {WoW}

Aug 30th 2008 2:17PM Wow. How exciting. They added some effects to the voices that were already in-game. I guess I can understand it though. What with Blizzard being a small, indie company. They couldn't possibly hire people to record new, more suitable voices for their brand new Hero class.

Totally disappointing. Blizz could do so much better than this. It probably took all of five minutes to figure out the combination of effects to apply to a voice, then ran it as a big batch on all the voice files. So maybe a couple hours of work. Way to really put forth an effort Blizz. Way to go.

Funcom: WoW is McDonald's, AoC is steak {WoW}

Jun 26th 2008 3:12PM The problem with AoC is that you're basically paying to play a Beta at best, but many times I feel it's more like an Alpha. So many little things that are broken it's just annoying to play. Maybe AoC will be steak and wine in another 6 months to a year, but for now? It's a bloody slab of flesh that was barely shown the grill and a glass of freshly crushed grapes, skins and seeds included.

AddOn Spotlight: Visual Heal {WoW}

Nov 5th 2007 12:36PM In my previous guild we had the healers start using this on their own accord. From their standpoint I see the benefit. Less overhealing means less wasted mana which means more mana for more healing all around. Awesome. Wicked beans. Score one for the healers. From my standpoint as a tank I think it sucks and it's basically pointless for me to even bother installing. There's a time and place for overhealing. When the healers start putting more stock in VisualHeal and less stock in what is actually happening, people die. When the tanks die, the raid dies. It's very simple math, but try telling that to a healer.

When I did voice my opinion after several wipes on easy Kara bosses and *gasp* even Kara trash, it produced a complete s**tstorm. The healers got their panties ina huge knot because they got it into their heads that I was saying they sucked when infact I repeatedly said that VisualHeal sucks. Oh well. To proove a point, I stopped asking for heals. The heals trickled in and wipes became a regular occurrance.

While VisualHeal is a helpful mod, I think it's far too easy to become reliant on it. It's almost like the healer's version of a DPS meter. Instead of DPS though, they compare how little overhealing they did. Unfortunately they don't factor in how many wipes such little overhealing caused.

A Perfect (and perfectly copied) World {WoW}

OMG. Pandarens! Buh Bye WoW. Hello Perfect World!

Are Auction Houses coming to Shattrath? {WoW}

Aug 21st 2007 4:04PM I really don't mind not having an AH in Shatt. What I would like to see though, since Blizz is forcing us to burn our HS to get back to Outland is to have our HS cooldown reduced once we hit Outland. Cut it in half to 30 minutes and I'd be pretty happy.

Harry Plotter and the Ninja of the Phoenix {WoW}

Aug 20th 2007 3:49PM That was a total dickhead move on the GM's part. Plain and simple. A drop like that should be simply /rolled on by anyone there. It's a completely random drop so it should go to anyone in the group.

Oh sure, the GM probably could come up with a few different reasons as to why he "deserved" it. Lame excuses like, "GM is a difficult job," but come on. It's not that difficult. It's definitely not difficult enough to warrant being a jerk and stealing loot from your guidmates. He simply wanted a cool drop and took it. Like the ninja that he is.

WotLK talent speculation: Is it ever too early? {WoW}

Aug 14th 2007 12:14PM Wulfhere, looking right back at you. *waves*

Talking about real information is great. I'd love to see articles on real, factual, information. Padding this website with blind speculation is pathetic. But hey, I guess it's what all media does so it's par for the course.

Believe me, I'm all for the expansion. I'm hyped to see what it will bring to the game. The Hero class sounds like a great idea. I'll be right there when there's an actual discussion about what it actually is. Until then all this talk about a class that doesn't exist and an expansion that is months and months away is just annoying. Let's get back to some real news about what's actually in the game.

WotLK talent speculation: Is it ever too early? {WoW}

Aug 14th 2007 11:12AM Yes, it is too early. Please shut up about the Death Knight. We're not going to see the expansion until NEXT YEAR. Another couple months of non-stop speculation and website padding about the Death Knight will mean that by the time the expansion does finally come out, everyone will be so completely sick of hearing about it, nobody will want to make one. Yes, they sound cool. Yes, more than likely everybody will make one. No, we don't need to have hourly updates about what might or might not be involved with them.

Orc shoulders being fixed in patch 2.2 {WoW}

Jul 19th 2007 12:10PM Thank god. Finally the wailing tantrums can stop. I mean, Horde are supposed to be such tough guys, right? Especially Orcs. They're big, they're green, they have pointy teeth and yell all the time. But change their shoulder pads and they run around like little girls screaming about their favorite party dress that has a loose thread. Bunch of nancy boys if you ask me.

Best patch ever. Bar none. Best patch ever.
