Dec 1st 2008 4:52PM They'll never know the AOE room of Scholo, aka "Mage Death room".
Or waiting at the UBRS entrance with a full group (of 20 people) while someone spammed in Ironforge, "LF KEY HOLDER UBRS, WILL PAY!"
Or one of the first machinima that I can remember: LEEROOYY JENNKINS!!!!
Or a time with the 40 man BWL epics had place-holder art, so your shiny epic you worked so hard to get looked like a level 1 green dress (druid), or plain old red hood (rogue).
Or the amazement of seeing someone on the first epic ground mounts, which were un-armored, plain mounts that were later exchangeable (unfortunately) for the new graphically updated armored ones.
For that matter, seeing someone on a mount for the very first time as a level 8 in Goldshire. OMG HE'S ON A HORSE!
Your first run through VC, 2 hours worth of painfully slow progression, as no one knows what aggro management is yet, and that just because a pally wore plate, didn't mean he could tank.
When shamans were insanely OP, and Gorgonnash alliance feared the name "Kronicus" while questing in STV. Or WPL. Or anywhere. /shudder.
Sigh. Memories. I love a lot of the changes that have come to wow, but like other people have mentioned, I miss the instances we'll never see again, and miss the people that I used to raid with whom have left wow.

No, it IS the rabbit.
Unfortunately I voted for the ghoul fingers. It made me LOL =)
Aug 17th 2007 11:40AM In early wow, there was no cap on the fees for respecs, and no gradual reduction of fees if you didn't frequently use the respec ability. The price used to constantly increase to "x" (I'm guessing, 'however high people could get the fees to before the change was implemented'), with absolutely no chance to let your character sit at that spec for a while and let the price drop.
So, hearing people say that 50g is too much to respec... I guess I've always thought a 50g cap with a gradual reduction of fees from lack of use was a great deal. I have a 70 shadow priest, and as a few other people have mentioned, I just play her as that spec in any situation. You adapt without having to totally revamp your talents -- maybe just switch to healing gear or find groups in which a shadow priest would be wanted.
Maybe I've just played too long to see a reduction of costs as a necessary change. It'd be fun to be able to swtich back and forth, but I guess it's just not what Blizzard is going for with their talent tree concept. /shrug. Two cents.
Aug 11th 2007 6:12PM Haha, that was great.
@5, I agree that he wasn't all-star amazing, but I thought he did a pretty good job for it being a parody. ;)
Jul 28th 2007 11:27AM I agree that it's a wipe -- everyone died. However the word "wipe" often does also imply failure, so when describing what happened, I would say, "we wiped, but managed to kill the boss first." Mostly a "wipe" to me just means everyone died.

Jul 25th 2007 2:20PM PS: Thank you for referencing that! Very amused.
I was in a group the other day in which someone asked how much mana the mage had. He said, "I have just over 9000."
So, of course, I replied, "It's OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!!" ... and no one understood. I QQ'd.
Jul 25th 2007 2:17PM It's over 9000!!!!!!
Go to Youtube and search "Over 9000" and you'll understand. It's a popular quote from the anime "Dragonball Z."
