Apr 7th 2010 1:06PM The resto shaman changes are HOT. I'm pretty pumped about all of them, though if I had to pick a favorite it would be OMGSQUEEAOEHEAL!!!!!
My offspec is enhancement and I'm much less excited there, just because they haven't really said much about enhammies yet. I'm mostly curious how they're going to be having us gear, since hunter gear's supposed to get completely revamped. Maybe we'll have to wait to find out more until they've decided what they're doing with hunters. As is, I'm not all that excited about the master bonus. Hopefully we won't have too much cause to stab elementals in Cataclysm.
Jan 15th 2010 11:14AM (8) You refuse to eat after a wipe and instead wait for me to heal you while I'm eating and drinking.
(9) You're one of those obnoxious people who are constantly telling the tank to "gogogo." I know how much that gets on my nerves when I tank, and it's starting to get on my nerves when I heal.
Jan 13th 2010 12:11PM I've thankfully only had that experience once, in HoS where the shaman was elemental gear and spec and insisted that he'd heal just fine if I wasn't a shitty tank. -.- Honestly the group was overgeared enough that it went okay-ish until we got to Tribunal. That was... not fun.
Honestly, I know it can be a little boring as a healer to do a heroic with a bunch of overgeared people. But the solution is not to be in your dps spec and half-assed heal. It's to be in your heal spec and half-assed dps so that you can go in to full healer mode if things go all wobbly. Trying to heal in dps spec doesn't have the tools to cope with something going wrong, and frankly at that point, it's not really the tank's fault if things do. It's YOUR fault for not being fully prepared to do the job you signed up for.
Jan 13th 2010 12:30AM Could we please add Starfall to the list? I have yet to see an occasion when a druid's used it and not pulled an extra pack of trash, even when they were glyphed for reduced range. When I see those stars a-falling, I start looking for where the random trash will come storming in from.
Jan 2nd 2010 11:12PM Considering that with my current tanking set, I can run a timed CoS run just fine, I'm forced to conclude that you're really just blowing it out your butt. :-) I know, it must be terrible to run UK in 20 minutes instead of 16. Chin up.

Jan 2nd 2010 8:13PM I'm personally getting very aggravated by people who are size queens, so to speak. I'm gearing up a new paladin tank; I've got all regular dungeon blues, and now some nice ilvl 200 blues and purples, as well as two ilvl 245 craftable epics that I worked for weeks to get the mats togther for. One of the first heroics I ever ran with that gear set, I had a dps warrior crawl all over me because I was less than 30k health unbuffed and needed real gear to get in to a heroic. Well, frankly, at that point there's no way for me to get gear except to do heroics, period. (Hell, I could technically go tank Naxx 10 right now. :P) And then he threatened to kick me out of the group if I died even once, then proceeded to get himself killed twice because he used blade storm at the start of a trash pull and I was so pissed off I couldn't bring myself to taunt off of him.
It's one thing if the person is an idiot and doesn't know what they're doing. It's one thing if they're obviously drunk, stoned, or just an immense jerk. But if they're doing their best and are just a little knew, have gear that's not ridiculous, or are just a little uncertain about their fights but putting out the effort, they've got as much of a right to instance time as everyone else.
Dec 15th 2009 12:31AM It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when people actually read and understand what the first amendment actually means. I've lost count of the number of people who have complained at me just on places like LJ about how their freedom of speech.
Not on my website, cupcake.
Dec 14th 2009 6:52PM While that's understandable for random heroics, I've learned my earth shield habits in raids. In those situations, there really are times when I don't have a spare GCD... and earth shield's real function then is to give my LHW an extra 20% on the tank, since the healing it does independently is nice, but only a small fraction of the total.
I'll agree that just constantly refreshing earth shield is probably the best way to deal with it in a five man when there are GCDs a-plenty to go around. But it would also be nice to have the reminder when it's getting late and I'm getting tired - or when all the charges fall off in the middle of a fight where the dps (bless their little hearts) insist on standing in the flamestrike. I find it pretty remarkable, actually, just how quickly earth shield charges can fall off in a given situation.
Dec 14th 2009 12:56PM I mostly want the monitor because it makes a noise at me when the charges run out. I've found that's faster than visually recognizing that the charges have fallen off.
