Apr 29th 2010 3:24AM GS has made WoW an even bigger shaft measuring contest. It kinda crazy what a profound impact this addon has had on the game. I see people so obsessed with their GS number that they equip higher item level trinkets which put them 3% over hit cap. It's just ridiculous.
Yeah, it kinda sucks, but GS not going away, and there's no sense trying to convince people not to pug based on GearScore. Let's say you're forming a VoA25 and you only have 30 minutes left before Wintergrasp and you need a healer. You're going to put out in trade "LF Healer for VoA25" and then you get two whispers from two Shaman healers who you've never seen before. One has 5300 and the other has 4800. Which one are you going to invite? Are you going to spend time looking both these guys up on wowarmory to analyze their trinkets and gems? Will you then compare their achievements against one another to see who has more raid experience? Hell no, because you don't have the time. You want to get the raid formed and you pretty much assume the guy with the 5300 GS will get the job done. Maybe the guy with 4900 is actually the better player but it doesn't matter because your instinct tells you "bigger is better".
Apr 14th 2010 7:25PM "admittedly, I haven't played a shadow priest since the day World of Warcraft hit the shelves"
um.....what? If you don't play a spriest, why do you refer tot he spec in the "we" format...and why are you so up in arms over the changes? Maybe I'm missing something......
Apr 7th 2010 1:02PM Lots of comments from people claiming they're gonna drop $15 and open a 2nd acct to get this mount. You guys do realize your RAF self must sign up for a minmum 3 months (45$) not to mention you have to buy a second copy of wow.
Feb 4th 2010 1:21PM I love this quote from the Ensidia nerdrage post...
"doubt we'll ever get a perm-ban, as the loss of PR from banning topguilds is going to hurt their subscription numbers much more than quelling angry cries of the fucking noobs in this game ever would."
what a total douche. This guy really thinks anyone cares about them?
Dec 23rd 2009 10:45AM I was healing Violet Hold yesterday...and I kind of messed up during the second boss fight and didn't heal a hunter when everyone was taking heavy damage....well, he died.
The poor hunter was lying dead there on the stairs and while I was trying to rez him I got the message box saying a vote had been initiated to kick the hunter...before I could even click anything he had been clicked.
Was pretty shocking to me because that was the first time I saw him take any damage whatsoever so I don't think he had been pulling aggro, he was also #2 on in dps. So I asked why people kicked him in party chat, and got no response from anyone. Kind of annoying how trigger happy people are to kick someone.
Dec 8th 2009 6:34PM You people are bat-shit crazy with your whining and complaining.
Dec 4th 2009 3:06PM I'd be interested in seeing more advanced topics discussed in the hunter column. Seems lately all there has been are leveling guides.
Nov 29th 2009 2:49PM I don't know why there is no Dwarf love. I love seeing a geared out little dwarf paladin or warrior running by. I hear a lot of people think they are ugly. True, they aren't known to be supermodels. There really is only 1 normal looking face, I really hope in Cataclysm we get some new face models .
I realized the other day in my guild I'm the only dwarf who runs in our 25 mans. It's nice to be unique I guess.
Interesting thing in that poll - although rogues are the least popular overall, they are the most popular among undead.
Oct 18th 2009 6:35AM I wish people would stop recommending that people should enter BG's and just "hang around" to get the achievement. If your going to join a wintergrasp why not make yourself useful and try to help your team win instead of being a lazy turd.
Jul 9th 2009 8:26AM As a progression raider, I already pay an extraordinary amount of gold in repairs every day.
So, to answer the author's question...no...that sounds like one of the worst ideas I've heard in quite awhile.
