All the World's a Stage: How WoW and Warhammer treat RP servers differently {WoW}

Aug 3rd 2009 12:38PM I joined a wow rp realm just to see what it was like. Created my toon and headed up to Ironforge, expecting to see a bunch of nerds talking in dwarf/elf speak over trade channel. To my surprise I noticed nothing different about anything...the chat was the same - not rp at all.

WoW China hit with more censorship upon relaunch {WoW}

Jul 30th 2009 10:00PM lmao @ the Chinese, they are so ridiculously retarded when it comes to censorship.

Why leveling will always be important to WoW {WoW}

Jul 17th 2009 11:27AM Personally I HATE the leveling process, and the main reason is that Azeroth is a barren wasteland, now that most people are in Northrend. I'd love to be able to run my leveling alts through some of the old school dungeons with a group, but that is near impossible. LF1M DPS Deadmines...hahahahah yeah friggin right. People don't want to run in groups in Azeroth...they want to be carried through by a level 80.

So it becomes a race to get to at least level 60 where I can find some people to run instances with, and even then it's a pain to find groups in Outland, that is unless you want to roll a group with 4 DK's.

I started playing wow right after Lich King came out. The first few days of playing, while questing around Dun Morough, I remember thinking to myself...where the **** is everybody!?? There was hardly anyone around to quest with. In my opinion the whole point of MMO is to play with other people. If those people aren't around, then I want to get to where the action is as fast as possible.

You don't need to level painfully from 1-80 to learn your class. i didn't start really learning my class until I hit northrend and starting reading up on how to maximize my dps on various forums.

TurpsterVision: Multiboxing, Recruit a Friend Style {WoW}

Jul 15th 2009 4:37PM Quote from Biff

"I may have missed something in the video, but I don't think it's possible to have a second account with the same name. Any account name should do."

It certainly is possible, in fact it's required if you plan on moving your toon from the referred account back to the original account after the RAF expires. You can have as many counts as you can imagine all with the same name, address, cc details etc...Blizz does not care.

TurpsterVision: Multiboxing, Recruit a Friend Style {WoW}

Jul 15th 2009 12:32PM Nice article, good to see a multi-box post. I too am a fan of RAF...I first did it when I started playing wow and quested with a friend, but only used it for my main to level from 1 -60. This time around, I have referred myself. My plan is to have at least 5 level 60's by the end...leveling two toons on each account and then granting the final levels to a dirty rogue.

To those who say it is cheating..pfft. The fact of the matter is, I have somewhat of a life- and I can only play for a few hours a day. I simply don't have time to keep my main up to date while trying to level more alts through the old world at a snail's pace. I've seen that content before, it's mostly boring...now I can see the game really doesn't start until you get to northrend.

Whats great about it...I can take my lvl 80 main on my main account, and run one of my alts through Stocks (or other easy dungeons) a few times, grabbing the associated quests. The amount of xp you get from dungeon quests is amazing. For example with stocks, there are 4 quests worth 3k xp = 36,000 xp after the multiplier - great stuff for a level 20 - that's pretty much a level up from 1 stocks run. When I'm done with the run, I log off my main and summon my alt to do the turn-ins. (Turning in the quests with my 80 main won't work, you have to turn them in with a character within 4 levels.) On top of that, you get some nice quality gear for your alts in the process. Then I repeat with a DK on my referred account and an alt on my main account...making sure that my alts on both accounts will always be within 4 levels of each other. I also make sure my two leveling toons on my main account have the 10% xp bind on account shoulders...hey why not get even more xp while you're at it.

I am using a quad core Mac Pro and CloneKeys. For me, most everything runs perfect as I'm only running two accounts. It does take a little time to set up. I only have one monitor which makes it kind of annoying to switch back and forth sometimes - I don't like playing with a minimized window.

One of the only annoyances I have found is setting up all the key-bindings. The most important thing is unbinding all the movement keys on your slave account. WASD keys have to be mapped to the arrow keys for example. Jump has to be mapped to a different key, otherwise you will break follow if the master jumps while swimming. Press R to respond to your latest whisperer? Your slave will respond to with the same text to HIS latest whisperer. Using any shortcut key on my master, like M to open map...the slave will open his too. So I have to remap a ton of keys to all these weird combos like Alt+Cntr+Whatever. The problem is, if I just want to play my slave by himself to run around, it's a royal pain without having to undo all the keybindings.

If you refer yourself, just make sure you sign up the new account with the same last name so that you can merge them when the 90 days are over. Might as well make them both battlenet accounts. Blizz has complicated rules on transferring a toon to another account if they aren't battlnet, even if you have the same last name.
No sense paying an extra 15$ a month for eternity on the referred account after it expires...just a 1 time $25 to pay for transfer.

The dying Hunter? {WoW}

Jul 10th 2009 12:19PM I don't think hunters are a dying breed to be honest...or at least I haven't noticed it. As far as dps, in my guild there are usually 3 (if not 4) hunters in the top 5 dps.

I also don't get why people complain about hunters being a boring class to play. SV is not boring, it takes a lot of skill to get the shot priority flowing consistently. We are very useful in Ulduar on fights like XT. You want a boring spec/class? Try Holy Paly, which consists of mainly spamming 2 heals over and over with healbot.

One thing I think that has been frustrating for the pure dps classes is that the dual spec system has been much more favorable to the hybrids - which was expected. It used to be when running heroics or raids, when a piece of loot dropped that nobody could use, it was DE'd and the shards were divided at the end of the run. Now, nearly every piece of loot that drops can be "needed" by someone's friggin offspec. All these other classes are getting a ton of loot that the pure dps classes are completely missing out on. That I think is causing people to reroll to hybrid classes.

Dawkins' Message to Mourners--Get Over It! {News Bloggers}

Apr 21st 2007 9:56AM Wow Dinesh, looks like hardly anyone agrees with your pathetic views. You have absolutely no concept of atheism and it truly shows here.

Now please, wipe that geeky smile of your face, put your glasses on backwards, and walk into yourself.
