Jul 2nd 2007 7:06PM Relating to what #8 was getting at. Why would you feel a need to search hard for goals and make the game fun again? The game is supposed to BE fun not MADE to be fun.
I bought the game, I got the epics, I moved on. I owe nothing to Warcraft. Some of the posts here on Insider make it sound like Warcraft is a friend you owe time to, and if you don't visit that friend then they'll be disappointed in you. Dump your 2-40 hour WoW "job" you aren't getting paid for and invest that in personal advancement. If not for you than for those around you. Even if you're too blind to see it.
Possible yet avoidable scenerio for some in the next 10 years:
"Dad, why don't you ever have anyone over?"
"Dad, why don't you know how to fix your own car?"
"Dad, why don't you enjoy playing outside with me?"
"Dad, why don't women look at you the same as the other dad's?"
Father's Response: "I dunno, but come check out this uber sweet completely useless sperm whale pet that just dropped after 60 hours of grinding and will be banked in a few days never to be seen again as a grind for the next crap pet begins! Server first baby!"
Jun 5th 2007 12:08AM You know you hate WoW when you secretly hope your account will be wtfhacked right out from under you. I had this feeling from lvl 1 all the way through Kara but I still played. Just wait for a night when something happens and you spontaneously delete your account, it's like a burden has been lifted zomg!
Jun 3rd 2007 2:06PM What isn't a grind in WoW? Quest grinding to gain xp or rep, raid grinding to keep up with the Jones', instance grinding to gain a few items to more successfully grind xp/raids, bg honor grinding. Even the social aspect to WoW is a grind: how many have you /ignored or grown to hate on your way to finding those few you enjoy the presence of? The man is right. WoW is nothing but a "carrot on a stick" constanty teasing you with the concept of a end without ever showing you the gameover screen.
