they're = a contraction of the words "they" and "are", as in "they're educationally unable to make the proper distinction between the which word to use."
there = a specified place, as in "look over there."
I apologize for this, I will be downrated. I realize this. I have a problem; it drives me insane when using the wrong word in the wrong context, and I need help because of it. Forgive me.

@Harvoc: I apologize for your apparent lack of a sense of humor. What kind of world do we live in you ask ... apparently it is one that is unable to laugh at itself.
