Spiritual Guidance: Level 1 to 5 on your new Priest {WoW}

Feb 4th 2008 10:03AM More useless articles from the blog I don't actually read but still haven't removed from my list of RSS feeds buried on my google home page.

1 to 5? I mean - are you joking? Who is this serving? I'd imagine if you took a poll you'd find that 99% of your readership is pretty well vested in warcraft and such a guide is ... still entirely useless.

I'm a little surprised you haven't split this into 5 posts - I mean you take the patch notes each time and split it across dozen's of posts.

Critapalooza {WoW}

Aug 15th 2007 4:59AM This article is an example of what WowInsider has become recently. Mind numbingly irrelevant posts. I'm not trying to be a jerk here - just stating that I think the trains been derailed somewhat and needs to get back on track.

Ever since I read that a L42 (if I recall correctly) is writing about WoW..

What does a L42 player know about WoW?

And to answer the question - I'm sure some people round up or down - but the difference is your target. Criting for 4000 on cloth isn't the same as doing it on plate.

Breakfast Topic: Outland, take two {WoW}

Mar 18th 2007 1:57PM I'd personally recommend going through at 58 and never going back. It was a bit difficult at first and I probably died too many times trying to do some of the [61]-[63] quests - (because the mobs are just SO much harder when at 58). The reality is - if you have a nice guild, and a good group - running through Furnace/Ramparts twice will net you not only quality rep (making your grind to the Heroric's so much easier), but also a level every 2 runs (until 60 - at which point you need 2.5x more XP than you did to get from 60 from 59).

And the items from the 'old world' are junk pretty well instantly.

I say this, and have a squish priest that is all too familiar with 'resist resist resist'. Even just grinding hellboars will net you 550xp a kill non-rested @ 58 - which is significantly more than a mob in the old world will give you. Works out to about 2 hours a level straight grinding pre-60.

Blizzard updates Under Development page {WoW}

Feb 23rd 2007 5:46PM Well - considering they expect a new expansion out next year - I don't think a 1 year gap is going to fly.

And people actually getting into Black Temple and/or Caverns of Time is going to be a while yet.

Tier sets: Who chooses, guilds or players? {WoW}

Jan 22nd 2007 3:48PM Well, first of all - you won't be getting 2 sets. You'll get 1 set and that will be it. Why? Because how many tokens do you need? How many drop per dungeon? How many people are in the raid with you?

To get a full set for 25 people you're likely looking at 4 - 6 months. Now you want 2 sets? And you want to complete the almost retardedly long requirements for the Hyjal battle?

So as said above, you get 1 set, the guild picks it - and away you go. If you're second tier raider, you get to pick it with some heavy suggestions I'm sure.

It would however be nice to see Druid's play more than a healing role though - especially now that alliance will have some Shammy's.

Monitor your broadband traffic with SurplusMeter {}

Apr 19th 2006 3:10PM That's all well and all.. but as the previous poster said.. I mean really - how many people have just 1 PC at home these days? Especially people that bother to read this website.

My recommendation is for ANTG.. it's great, and can pull information with a little confiruation from any SNMP device. I use it to pull from a Linksys switch and it monitors all input and ouput traffic.

Apr 13th 2006 12:03PM I have a more recent unit (received it last week)(REV F maybe?) - and have had no issues as of yet other than it getting pretty hot. No humming or weirdness going on at all. No dead pixels.. no bad speakers - no weird screen brightness, no airport issues.
