Beckett releases an in-depth WoW guide {WoW}

Apr 29th 2008 7:17PM I was concerned that the impression was that all people at Beckett are like those you described and I know, aside from this person, some very good people who work there. I also know some who would fit your desciption so no harm, no foul.

Beckett releases an in-depth WoW guide {WoW}

Apr 28th 2008 8:41PM Let's just say that I know someone who works for Beckett very well and I know the kind of work that this particular person puts into what this person does (I'm being very generic on purpose). Not everyone at Beckett is clueless, nor does everyone not care about their work. This particular person is extremely knowledgable about MMOs (likely more than 90% of MMO players and I'm not exagerating) but is limited to doing what is forced upon said person. There are some very knowledgable writers that do their articles as well. Don't mistake someone's opinion that varies from yours is ignorance. Maybe this person sees things from a different angle and is correct and maybe, gasp, you don't know everything like you thought.

A company needs to make money to function and publishing a guide such as this allows them to earn the additional income necessary to publish their regular magazines. It's because of online that magazines have such a hard time surviving these days and there are still many people who prefer being able to step away from their computer and sit in a chair and hold the paper in their hands and read without the threat of additional monitor-related eyestrain.

So basically, you don't have to read, or even care about this guide or about magazines in general but don't begrudge a person for wanting it and certainly don't the company for needing to earn money to stay in business.

Phat Loot Phriday: Orb of Deception {WoW}

Dec 28th 2007 11:12PM I got a locked chest from a random mob outside of Auchindon while farming for Aldor rep. I asked my fiancee to open it on her Rogue expecting junk and this was inside. I sold it for about 500g on the AH.
