Jan 19th 2009 11:40AM Loken is probably my favorite fight in the five mans. Halls of Lightning in general is just an excellent instance.
The Oculus and Eregos hands down take the cake for the lamest instance and boss. I don't want to fight a boss on a dragon, I want to play my character.
I also suspect Eregos is underrated in the evaluation of "deadliest boss" since some people can reliably escape failed attempts without dying or simply don't bother with the instance anymore.
Personally, I've probably killed Loken twenty times, but I've never actually killed Eregos and don't particularly care if I ever do.
Oct 23rd 2008 3:15AM Blizzard doesn't have to do anything. There are benefits to establishing friendships with some basis in trust, even online. ;)
Sep 14th 2008 4:24PM Exactly. I'll take spell hit and stam over spell haste and spirit (as a fire mage). Spirit is still an abyssmal stat and hit is still essential, particularly for "starter" epics such as tailoring provides.
Sep 14th 2008 2:40PM "As you might expect, the Spellweave set (gloves, robe) seems most appropriate for Mages, the Ebonweave set (gloves, robe) for Warlocks, and the Moonshroud set (gloves, robe) for healing Priests."
I don't think I agree with this assessment. It's easy to assume that, but as people get in the game and begin actually making informed choices for their classes, it definitely isn't going to break down so cut and dry.
Jun 8th 2008 7:25PM Oh jeez guys, this post attributes no credit to anyone specifically. If anything, these flames sound of the same mindset as internet trolls.
May 29th 2008 3:55AM (Actually, it was spell reflect, I believe. I think he was immune to interrupts.)
May 29th 2008 3:51AM I know it's hard in this day and age, but I found it really helpful to actually tank all of the pre-60 instances along the way while levelling. Granted, they are easy. But it really helps find certain comfort zones with handling mobs before hitting Outland, where tanking becomes notably more complex at the 5-man level.
If I'd waited until Hellfire Ramparts to tank my first instance, I probably would have felt like a deer caught in the headlights a little.
My first "oh crap" experience was actually the final boss of the Ring of Blood in Nagrand, where if I missed an interrupt, he basically killed me. That was a major wakeup call for me in regards to keeping myself alive rather than simply leaving matters to the healer, but it prepared me for similar challenges that become much more commonplace later on.
May 29th 2008 2:55AM Yep, good read. The comments/discussion from others has been interesting as well.
I am cutting my teeth as a protection warrior, just now starting to tank heroics. Some days it seems easy and some it does not. But I am learning a lot along the way. Might be something I am interested in doing at a more serious level later on.
May 27th 2008 2:34AM Or is that the length of time of the spell being cast? In that case, Arcane Missiles is a 5 second cast time.
May 27th 2008 2:30AM Mages probably need an option to select zero time between spell casts. Assuming that a mage waits 1.5 seconds between casting each spell is not entirely realistic.
