The Light and How to Swing It: 2 tanking wishes for Mists {WoW}

Feb 10th 2012 11:11PM I really enjoyed being a paladin tank in BC. That's when it was fun to be a paladin tank.

I'm completely the opposite of most people here. I actually LIKE a simple mindless rotation while tanking. When I don't have to worry about my rotation, I can focus more on situational awareness issues like positioning the boss and managing long-term cooldowns. You can also watch the whole raid easier and call out when people need to move or do "that special thing" that the fight requires at just the right time.

Is it time to kill tanking? {WoW}

Aug 26th 2011 8:57AM Tanking specs didn't used to be useless outside dungeons, but Blizzard decided that they were "overpowered" in PvP so they nerfed them until the WERE useless outside dungeons.

See my comment below for the real reason why there's a tank shortage.

Is it time to kill tanking? {WoW}

Aug 26th 2011 8:54AM The reason that there's a tank shortage is because in Blizzard's never-ending quest to make PvP "fair and balanced" they've completely destroyed anything even remotely fun about being a tank. In addition, they've ruined tanking rotations by introducing random ability procs. The final nail in the coffin for me was the change to the block mechanic that pretty much ruins mega-pull low-level instance farming and soloing, i.e. the "fun" stuff you can do as a tank.

When I rolled my paladin, I specced protection from day one. I leveled protection, I tanked 5-mans, I soloed everything I could to hone my tanking skills. In fact, to this day, I still don't know how to play my paladin as DPS. This becomes a major problem in raids where they expect everyone to dual spec and be equally fluent in both.

Now that tanking isn't any fun, I'm not sure that I want to play anymore.

The Queue: Shattering is over, time to go home {WoW}

If you pick up the Tournament Tabard, you can use it to port directly there. It used to share a cooldown with your hearthstone, but I think that's been changed...

The Classifieds: Raegwyn solos Kael'thas Sunstrider {WoW}

Nov 24th 2010 10:35PM If that's true, then I really have no interest in playing this game anymore. Soloing old content was one of the reasons I rolled my paladin in the first place, and one of the reasons that has kept me playing for so long. I mainly liked to solo because of the challenge, not the gold, but it certainly was nice to get a little cash out of it to pay for repairs.

With the changes to block value, block rating, reflective damage mechanics, and AOE caps, it's probably impossible to pull entire instances too, no matter how low-level they might be.

Frankly, I find it quite depressing.

Breakfast Topic: Has 4.0.1 brought you back to WoW? {WoW}

Oct 17th 2010 12:43AM I stopped playing several months ago because I was just worn out from my guild running the first 6 bosses of ICC10, then hitting a wall, week after week after week. Even with the 30% buff, we still couldn't progress any further. I just got burned out from trying and failing.

I was planning to come back when the new expansion comes out, but after reading the way Blizzard shit all over protection paladins (my main), I'm not sure if I want to come back. Blizzard, if your plan was to dissuade people from playing paladins, mission accomplished, dickholes.

Why do so many people not know about Titan MicroMenu?...
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info14482-Titan-MicroMenu.html

You can move the standard Blizzard MicroMenu onto your Titan Panel at the top of the screen and optionally hide the buttons you don't use. I can't live without it.
