Mar 2nd 2009 11:25AM Ahh, glad to see you hitting on the professions David, and this is yet another great article.
I would add to keep in mind that tailoring (and all professions) can be roleplayed from a variety of angles. There is of course that actual act of tailoring, that is, taking all the required components and stitching together the final product. There is also the supplier, the one who ventures to the corners of the world to gather the materials. Or perhaps you specialize in gathering only the best silks, or mageweave. I once even had an Ultima Online avatar who was employed as a bodyguard to a tailor, 'cause, you know, those sheep can sometimes get rowdy. :) On the other end of the business ladder, perhaps you could create a full tailoring guild, managing a host of tailors each with specific skill sets, and your job is simply to take orders and dispatch that certain person who is best for the job. Do a little RL online homework about the process of how clothes are currently made, then just improvise and adapt that into the game. Roll on!
Jan 5th 2009 11:29AM Congratulations on your first year David! I just finished my first full year with RoleCraft, and I'm glad to see you staying with it. We are still, to my knowledge, the only two major writers covering MMORPG roleplaying online. Glad to see you finally come onto Moon Guard! Look up Arsonite Tinkerboom anytime.
Nov 1st 2008 1:37PM Now this looks excellent! Gonna take a deeper look, and may get with you for an article about it.
Sep 8th 2008 11:26AM Another great article, David!
Concerning dwarven age, it may help to know that Gimli was about 140 years of age when the Fellowship left Rivendell to destroy the Ring. So, if you remember all the physical and mental traits described in the books for him at that age and during that year, you can get a better understanding of how to roleplay your own age-appropriate traits.
Also, be aware that dwarves across all MMORPGs do not have to be related, i.e., share all the exact same traits. Fans of Dragonlance may well remember how vastly different Gully Dwarves were from their historical brethren. No reason why something similar can't be creatively roleplayed!
Jun 2nd 2008 11:22AM I was actually thinking of the Grim Reaper character from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy cartoon. That would be a hoot to be able to play a death knight in his manner! Not sure I could do it. I also agree with the general consensus here - roleplaying the death knight is certainly going to be a fun challenge.
May 3rd 2008 12:56PM Spending more than a few years in the Army, I can't go outside without a cover (headgear, beret, hat). I have one of the quest turn in hats with the question mark from Jinx that I wear very often. I'm hoping some deliciously hot babe will walk up to me and want to complete her quest with me. :P
Bah, who am I kidding, right?
Apr 19th 2008 10:04AM You know I'll be listening.
Apr 9th 2008 10:08AM Downloading now. Thank you!
Mar 24th 2008 11:29AM I also have a couple personalities on Moon Guard, and the RP there is impressive, at least what I've noticed on Horde side. Feel free to look me up - Kemosabe or Larsani. Might also be rolling on Alliance soon. Good stuff David!
