How to Destroy Your Guild: An Officers' Quarters Special Feature {WoW}

May 13th 2007 2:54PM A while back my guild disbanded...sort of. You see, there wasn't actually anyone to disband the guild. The GL and his wife had vanished, and as far as we heard were off playing GuildWars. This left everyone looking at me, as I was the only officer, and asking what I was going to do. I had no idea. We were a small guild to begin with, with many of the players drifting off as time went on. When the remaining members all encouraged me to form a new guild, it seemed like a good idea, so we all dropped guild, I got the form, and we all signed it. Problem: by this time, there were only 6 of us. So the recruitment began...and kept going for several weeks as I was determined to not invite morons, which it seemed like I was attracting in droves.
Finally after a long and trying process, I had only 2 names left to get, and lo and behold, the leader and his wife reappeared! Problem #2: He hates me now, and won't even talk to me. His wife, ever diplomatic, claims otherwise, but when someone won't even say 'hi' to you, you get the point. I repeatedly offered them spots in the new guild, and let them know the invitation always stands because they were friends, but with the little highschool-esque drama that they're going through with us, I'm not really worried about it. I got the last two names, and reformed without them. Now I just need to figure out what the hell I'm doing as a GL...
Good thing someone's writing articles about that!
