Jul 18th 2007 9:40PM I agree with everything you said 10, I just think that for all the good that WoW has done, it's done plenty of bad. I'm not even saying that it's the fault of the developers. A lot of the problem with WoW's popularity is human nature.
Jul 18th 2007 8:20PM Holy moly! WoW Fanboi club in here. The entire point of what he said was this:
Without proper competition, the industry stagnates. WoW stagnated the industry by being so popular. People don't know what else is out there because they just play WoW.
WoW also revolutionized the industry. It proved you could put money into an MMO and get it back.
But while it made this important advance, it also set back the minds of many players, forever changing the MMO scene in, to be honest, a mostly negative way.
Jun 10th 2007 4:27PM The author of fubar (ckknight) also released a unitframes mod. It's fantastic! It goes by Pitbull, and is highly configurable and relatively bug free! It gets updated on a nearly constant basis, and any bug I see submitted is quickly fixed. It's great on memory, and you can add all kinds of crazy frames. Personally, I *LOVE* the pet target window. It really helps out when things get hairy and targets bunch up.
May 28th 2007 3:24PM Good freaking lord. If you haven't figured it out by now, let me be the magical person who comes and fills you in...
Gay could mean 1. Homosexual 2. Happy 3. Lame
Just because you're, for lack of a better term, crybabying this issue, doesn't mean it's offensive. Now, if someone says, this quest is as gay as buttsex, then yes, you have some foot to stand on there. However, saying, "Man, this quest is some gay ass shit," doesn't have any sort of connotation. Am I trying to convey that a quest is a homosexual hunk of fecal matter, origination from an anus? No, it's not quite that simple. You see, when people use terms to describe something, they're not always making a direct comparison. If they did, wouldn't homosexual individuals be walking around saying, "Oh my, these pants are so gay!" in a positive way?
I've got a sinking feeling in my stomach that you're just a product of the PC(that's politically correct) trend in the US (I can't speak for other countries). It's downright offensive how you try to make everything a personal affront to you, and your beliefs.
Now, saying something has been "Jewed", to me would be indicative of racism. I don't believe that "Jewed" is a popular slang word for lame, it's the spawn of racist jokes about jewish people.
May 23rd 2007 6:49PM Alright, here's the deal. This build is *decent*. However the problem is that PvP druid is so good at PvE, that it's hardly worth the minor aspects to go PvE druid. You want Brutal Impact. I personally tank Karazhan without any problems sans Feral Instinct, even if DPS goes ape from the start. Then again, I'm geared. When I was gearing up as feral (instances and bgs/arenas), I either took Thick Hide or Feral Instinct. Never both.
Oh, and if you can't figure a way to spare a single point for Nature's Grasp in a PvP build (I know this is a PvE build posted), start practicing your DELETE typing skills.
Predatory strikes is just a talent point dump. They don't want to give us something useful, and I'd kill to have some sort of utility there. Personally, at higher end arena play (I'm around 1800s, working my way up), I find that I don't have enough time to heal, except in 5v5. I don't grab Nurturing Instinct, in favor of the better feral talents. You can look up my build and gear if you're interested, Polarity on Gorgonnash. I am having comp problems, and haven't logged in since 2.1.0 hit. I'm picking up my arena head, and revamping my socket choices. Offense FTW! Down with Solid Stars!
That's my rant on druid talents. Gave ya'll the short version.
May 18th 2007 11:20PM Possibilities:
1. The news affects WoW in some way, perhaps the announcement of the next expansion. They are anticipating people jumping on WoW to talk about this, and they don't want some type of fault to crash the servers during this surge of people.
2. The new game is StarCraft: Ghost, and is playable online. The demo will be released, with multiplayer, thus the patch to auth servers.
3. There was a problem with authentication that they wanted to fix, because they just found it.
4. Tseric made sweet love to the authentication server before he quit...literally. Cleanup on server 2!
5. There is some sort of game that is being released, in the next few days, which will need to use the auth servers.
6. The new StarCraft league system will be using the same auth servers as Bnet, and needs a patch.
May 18th 2007 2:04PM The druid nerf wasn't a PvE nerf. Good druids knew how to tank without mangle before. What happened was a PvE nerf. The new strategy? Don't try to kill warriors solo in less than half an hour.
