WoWMatrix responds to Curse and WoW Interface {WoW}

May 6th 2009 1:25PM I'm also taking the WoW Matrix side.

For too long Curse and WoWInterface have sought to just make money from their sites.

Paid Downloaders? Ads EVERYWHERE?!? Not to mention all the crap years ago when they were hosting bogus addons..

It's too the point that if WoW Matrix doesn't host the addon, I won't use it. And I have no problem if they don't pull from Curse or WoW Interface.

DON'T TRUST Curse OR WoWInterface. Over the years they've made it clear that they don't care about the gamers, only their pocket books.

Curse's interview with Tigole and Kalgan {WoW}

May 9th 2008 3:49PM HAHHAHA, I was thinking the same thing...

The WI invite was lost in the mail? Or does some one at Blizzard understand that all this site does is regurgitate old news?

Forum Post of the Day: Your favorite boss quote {WoW}

Jun 12th 2007 4:49PM @#12

You are SOOOOOOOOOOOO right.

By far the best boss lines belong to Anub'rekhan in Naxx.

I think you forgot one of my favorites though.

In that same creepy voice…

“Don’t worry… It will all be over soon..”

It is a shame all these guys have heard are MC and Kara quotes, there are some goodies out there.

Class-action lawsuit filed against IGE {WoW}

May 31st 2007 7:37PM WoW Insider would be interested in this.

It means a competitor to their sponsors has been shut down.

More money for WoW Insider.

NPR sympathetic to goldfarmers {WoW}

May 17th 2007 11:27PM WOW.. Way to miss the point WoW insider!

Once again you fail to realize the impact this action has on the world, our game and our community.

As poster #14 pointed out, NPR reports REAL news. About REAL people.

I read the article and listened to the interview, NOT ONCE did an NPR reporter say they felt “bad” or “sympathetic” toward the farmers.

This was a PITIFUL attempt by the staff and ownership of WoW insider to subvert the thinking of its readers

On one hand the writers and owners of say they HATE the practice, yet everywhere on every page one can find links to BUY the gold from said practice.

It’s disgustingly hypocritical.

We’re told that there is a list of banned gold farming websites not allowed to promote here. So what are we to infer? That only if you’re an approved sponsor of gold farming can you advertise with WI?

WoWinsider is guilty of supporting these slave labor practices. This is their website, THEY have the option to choose their sponsors. They continually HIDE behind the excuse that they can’t choose who Google ads uses. THEN STOP USING GOOGLE ADS!

But no. Their money is made off of these ads and the SLAVE LABOR that supports them. Lets face it, this website doesn’t respect the game we play let alone care that people are being abused. This all in the name of FOUR BUCKS A DAY!

Seriously WoWinsider, why don’t you cut out the middle man, pick up a random person off the street and just start beating them.

The following are links to learn about the real travesty of the situation. Some are articles written by solid news reporting organizations, as well, there are few blurbs on discussion boards surrounding this topic.

The asterisked articles are a couple of my favorites, but don't be afraid to do some research on your own, there are TONS of resources out there regarding this.

HELL! Go to any of the sites they advertise! They show you how long in hours it takes to get X amount of gold and to power level you. Do the math, the "company" which is supplying this service is making PENNIES per hour for their employees. What's the minimum wage in your state?
If you're still reading this I hope you understand, people are being abused and hurt by this, it's more then just destroying the economics of a game. It's real people, in real pain. I don't know if I can make it any simpler.

WoWinsider needs to change their practice of supporting these people and paying their writers with money provided by this “industry”.

I thank you all for reading this and hope you can help power a much needed change at this and other similar websites.

PS: It's a shame I got distracted today and this got bumped so far down the list, I hope it still gets noticed.
