The OverAchiever: The 25 most entertaining achievements, part 1 {WoW}

Jun 24th 2010 11:56AM I disagree about keys for raids being annoying. People put prerequisites on raiding anyway " lfm icc 5k gs link achieve" why not put it in the game so you know your raiders are at least semi intelligent? The kara key quest was the most epic thing ever.

The Queue: A bunny! {WoW}

May 31st 2010 4:27PM Sometimes when I /camp it takes the full 20 second timer to take me back the character screen, other times it does it instantly and I can even log onto another character before the previous one disconnects. What determines whether the timer will tick or if the transition is instant? Latency? Server load?

AddOn Spotlight: TellMeWhen {WoW}

May 6th 2010 1:27PM Situational Awareness is the skillset I was referring to, it's right there in my post, but I guess there isn't an addon that reads comments for you and picks out the important details.

It's not about where your icons are, There are addons that do not automate the game, Xperl for instance, that allow the player to filter what buffs show up. I'm fine with improving the look of the UI and the information it presents, but this takes it too far, in my opinion. Rather than simply "TellYou" this addon will "TellYouWhen," meaning that instead of paying attention to all aspects of the fight, you are simply waiting for a chime and a light to tell you when to push a button. If you like a game telling you how to play, then more power to you, I prefer to play a game with my own skills and experience taking the lead, not a stimulus->reaction experiment.

AddOn Spotlight: TellMeWhen {WoW}

May 6th 2010 12:48PM I respectfully disagree, Cynea and Lokradu. Addons like these, and yes I have used them, remove an important skillset from the player base. Situational awareness is already low, and only goes down further with this type of automation. You could train a monkey to dps with these addons. "Press 5 when you see red, Mr Peaches."

I'll make the joke... Posting a comment is too much to wrap my brain around.

AddOn Spotlight: TellMeWhen {WoW}

May 6th 2010 11:42AM Yay, another addon that plays the game for you. No wonder wow is full of reactionary drama queens. Something as simple as a dos rotation is apparently too much for some to wrap their brains around.

AddOn Spotlight: Priest, mage, warlock addons {WoW}

Apr 15th 2010 9:56PM I use many addons, and I hate playing without them, but it's a fine line of automation to walk with ShadowGreenLight and similar addons (Tellmewhen is another I think). These addons, imo are akin to performance enhancing drugs for sports when it comes to this game. I mean DPS is already so automatic (you find a spec online, learn a rotation, etc). Do we really need a light that tells us when to push the button? What game are we playing at that point?

Mar 2nd 2010 10:29PM need to put "healing" somewhere in the title, you almost stopped my poor shadowclad heart.
