Jun 3rd 2008 3:04PM WotLK isn't coming out until the fall or winter. In the mean time, as more and more gold pours into the economy from daily quests, inflation continues to rise. On Skywall, a 20 stack of terrocone, that sold for 30g 3 months ago, sells for 50g today. 3 months from now, it might sell for 83g. 6 months from now, around the time WotLK comes out, it might sell for 139g.
Just as in the real world, it might be advantageous to invest some of your money in things that will do a decent job tracking inflation.
May 31st 2008 7:33PM With all the inflation from the new dailies, wouldn't it make more sense to hold most of your wealth in items, instead of a huge mound of money that's going to grow smaller every day, even if you don't spend any of it?
May 31st 2008 5:20PM Yes, these things take time, but Blizzard is taking way, way too long. The two year wait between expansions is ridiculous. Hopefully competition on the horizon will wake them up a little. With the exception of Deathknights, the expansion isn't even bringing anything all that new to the game, just more levels, some new zones, and reworked spells / talents.
Apr 19th 2008 6:13PM "All the people that were dragging us down left the BG, and new ones came in and we won. So maybe this isn't that bad of advice after all..."
Congratulations! You got 15 real live people to afk out of your game. More room for the bots who don't fall for tricks like this. You should be proud of yourself for giving 15 new players the education they need about assholes in battlegrounds. I'm surprised you didn't pick your nose and show it to them while you were at it. Go back to grade school where you belong.
Apr 12th 2008 3:09PM It's a very well done video, but it would have been a lot more effective as an ad if it weren't so long and slow.
Apr 5th 2008 9:24PM My first mate's hat. No, it's not epic, but it's still my most cherished wow possession. :)
Mar 15th 2008 4:38PM Please, do not wipe your Interface/AddOns folder and then re-download all your addons on patch day. Places like wowace.com, are already going to be under tremendous strain on patch day. You'll just be making the problem worse, and for no gain -- the game itself does not save addon setting in your AddOn folder. All that's in there is the code for the addons themselves, and WoWAceUpdater will take care of making sure all of that is up to date.
Bandwidth costs money, and WoWAce is not a for-profit business, it's just a group of people who enjoy writing addons and sharing them with the WoW community.
If you really want to start with a clean slate, it would be much better to wipe your WTF folder, which contains all the saved settings used by your AddOns.
Feb 12th 2008 1:20PM I don't really see the problem. If I have an hour to play every night, that isn't going to change because there are more dailies out there. Now I will have more to pick and choose from :) More variety means less of a grind.
Isn't it rather bizarre that many consider casual play "a few hours every day" ?
Feb 12th 2008 12:32PM Ugh, another example of them screwing up the PvE side of the game in order to balance PvP. :(
Jan 24th 2008 4:05PM It is indeed opt-in.
For a guild to be ranked by WoW Jutsu, someone has to explicitly add it to the list of guilds that it crawls.
