Final Fantasy XIV launch day roundup {Massively}

Oct 1st 2010 3:16AM Can you list the MMOs that did start out completed enough? I've played quite a few from launch and every single one had huge additions and changes within the first year or 2.

Final Fantasy XIV launch day roundup {Massively}

Oct 1st 2010 3:11AM The game has no recipes and basically forces you to log off and write down recipes and log back on just to find out you need to use 5 other recipes for other classes to craft a mat for the item you're trying to make.

There is a window mode option so you dont have to log out of the game. Dual screening also has huge advantages here. They are also adding a recipe book. And yes SE wanting you to play alot of the classes really shows in the Disciplines of the Hand.

Final Fantasy XIV launch day roundup {Massively}

Oct 1st 2010 3:06AM The UI was really designed for a controller, partially because they keep the game the same for PC and console.
you can reply to someone with Ctrl + R
Its $10 for base service. The $3 per character was a bit disappointing, but you can do alot with one. And even with 2 characters you are at $16 which is just a dollar over normal MMO fees. One character can take up so much time that I couldnt imagine all the work involved in even playing more than 2.

Week in Review: Not-so-Final Fantasy {Massively}

Sep 27th 2010 5:43PM IIRC the director at SE said that FFXIV wasnt even aiming to be a WoW killer. They just want a game that their dedicated fans will love.
And so far I have.
