Nov 29th 2007 11:35AM I usually play alliance. I have several characters but mainly pvp on my elemental shaman and my rogue.
I can say without a doubt rogue is one of strongest defensive classes. With Sap/Blind I can pause the incoming offense and kill someone only to vanish and take out another in the same manner. I always defend in AB/WSG/EOTS, unless someone is already there and doing a decent job.
On my shaman it's a completely different story. If I am left alone at a node it's usually a death sentance. Without a CC or a CC break (sans trinket) I'm pretty horrible at taking out more than 1 attacker and if it's a rogue/hunter/mage/warlock I'm almost 100% dead what with CC/Silences. People just don't do what suits their class.
My idea for the current battlegrounds is:
WSG - A time limit, say 30 minutes. Then add more end of game winning honor.
EOTS - Towers should stay capped only if players are defending them. Maybe a bonus to damage or hitpoints to the side with less points or least amount of bases to make comebacks a little more likely if 3 or 4 capped.
AB - Same as EOTS, nodes stay capped as long as there is a player within a certain distance of the flag. Even stealthed (Yea I know this would give away stealthed players essentially, but I'm not sure what else you could do). Also, same as EOTS give a boost in damage to the losing team that increases as they lose more. Maybe something along the lines of 5% damage/hp boost when down by 2k points and move that up as the point spread gets larger, capping at 20% or so.
