Oct 24th 2007 1:13PM I don't care about the repair bot (needed it exactly twice in the last half a year), but the potion injector becoming usable is great, that makes potions stack in 10 now rather than 5
Oct 3rd 2007 7:09PM Shade of Aran - when the blizzard comes up we normally recommend everyone simply run into the middle, rather than trying to stay ahead of the blizzard. As a hunter this is a great time for you to drop a snake trap under Shade. Watching him waste a nice long fireball cast on a target of "Snake" makes everyone appreciate you.
Also, popping aspect of the pack when your teammates are in slow motion getting out of range of the arcane blast is well appreciated, as nobody is taking damage to cause a daze.
Oct 2nd 2007 4:24PM I think this is a fantaastic change. I'm one of the more overgeared members of my current guild and we happen to be just clearing Kharazan. There are very few upgrades left for me in Kara, and even shards go to the guild bank, so I'm footing a flask / consumables / repair bill with nothing but rep to show for it (and that'll be exalted soon anyway).
I like helping guildies and I chose this guild to remain with friends, but it sure is nice to have something to look forward to in Kara again.
Lets face it, Kara is the most popular instance, for whatever reason and alignment of the stars, it just is. So they're making it more fun for those of us bored running it. Likely the troll instance will be its successor, so this is all good news.
Oct 2nd 2007 11:15AM It seems ok to me. We still used Vent for our Kara raid, but I wouldn't expect that many people to accept change all at the same time. We did use it for our arena team and once one teammate bumped up his mic volume it was perfect. You can chat during load screens, but not when alt-tabbed out of wow. I think the wow chat is more sensitive to mic quality than anything - with my headset I was loud and clear, but guys with tabletop mics are way too quiet. If you don't have a proper mic, stick with the more forgiving apps like Vent.
Sep 10th 2007 12:41PM "What do you do with 12k gold?"
Get some alts, they can cost plenty, but they're fun to play and give you a whole support system of crafters (I have my own enchanter, engineer, all gathering profs, etc...).
My main is completely tricked out with every purchasable item andI have money to burn at the moment too (just short of 5k). Now I'm deciding if I want to drop 5k on an epic flyer for my 70 alt, or save it for another up-and-coming alt who I prefer. I may do neither, because the more I get into my alts, the less I grind my main on daily quests and mining, so the cash isn't coming in as fast.
I dropped several hundred on my lowly 38 priest this weekend because I wanted to trick him out for WSG weekend. Umbral crystal, dual underworld bands, mats for 35+ outland enchants on his new gear (my 70 alt is an enchanter, but low on mats - these big enchants make level 35 a happy place for my other alts, too much stuff at 70 is BOP but man is it handy having a high level enchanter on deck for alts).
You can blow a lot of money just playing the game with alts. Only someone who has a single main and never plays anything else will encounter "too much money"
Sep 6th 2007 2:40PM I voted yes. The way I see it:
- Not having to alt-tab out to fire up Vent
- No need for Vent install, setup, server names, passwords, etc...
- No need to crank up volumes to hear voices over game sounds (it apparently auto-lowers the game sound as needed)
- Can see who is talking! I recognize very few voices in a 25-man raid so I'd love this
- Quality is not as good as Vent on PTR? Or so I've heard
- With Vent/TS you can keep up chat when someone's WoW client crashes
- Not as easy to hang out in when not using it for instances/raids? Not sure how the voice chat will work but I don't wear my headset unless raiding anyway so I don't care.
Sep 5th 2007 2:09PM I want the murloc sound as a ringtone
Sep 5th 2007 12:52PM "how do you even get ganked on a pve server in the first place."
It's quite avoidable, but here's a popular trick the alliance children use on my server:
- Challenge horde member to a duel
- Cancel/lose duel and immediately flag yourself
- Hordies next attack flags him
- Pathetic friends dogpile the hordie
Sadly most people will refuse to accept cross-faction duel requests anymore. Duels used to be the only way to make mouthy alliance put up or shut up. Nothing beat dropping a duel flag on a hopping spitting alliance member and watching him realize he has no testicles after all. Unfortunately they've found a way to turn duels into the norm for alliance pvp - if it isn't 3v1 we're too scared to fight...
Aug 19th 2007 2:44PM Haven't watched it but soloing BRD is pretty easy. My 70 hunter was able to do a full clear of BRD before I saw my first piece of Kara loot. Now with 10 (I think?) epics it'd be a cakewalk... The lyceum was so easy i could burn down groups with only an explosive trap and a volley (weak-ass hunter aoe)
