The Winter Veil holiday begins tomorrow morning within the World of Warcraft, but it's also kicking off right here on WoW Insider. If you're a long-time reader, you may be familiar with how we celebrate the 12 Days of Winter Veil. If you're not, allow me to explain: We give away a lot of stuff. Like, a lot of stuff. Not only do we clear out the neat things that have accumulated in our storage closet over the course of the last year, but our friends at various WoW product vendors participate, too.

SteelSeries makes some cool WoW-inspired gaming peripherals, and the World of Warcraft MMO gaming mouse is no exception. The newest iteration in the lineup is the Legendary Edition, a brand new design that takes what worked from the previous versions of the MMO gaming mouse and iterates on core concepts, resulting in an overall sturdier build and better product. The new mouse fits more comfortably in my hand than the old MMO gaming mouse did as well as provides two new thumb buttons that I didn't anticipate liking as much as I did.

As usual, I tested out each peripheral for review for no less than a week of actual WoW gameplay and learning, trying out the gear on my main as well as new alts created for the express purpose of learning with a new peripheral from scratch. Here's my week with the SteelSeries WoW MMO Legendary edition gaming mouse.

Steelseries, makers of World of Warcraft-licensed peripherals and gaming hardware, has just announced a contest to send two lucky winners to BlizzCon in October. The grand prize includes two tickets to BlizzCon, airfare to get there, accommodations, $200 in spending money, $200 at Morton's Steak House, and front-of-the-line access to sponsors' events at the convention. Blizzard is all about the contests these days, and that's pretty awesome. The newest contest is the Cataclysm Dungeon Screenshot Contest, where players can enter screenshots of their most amazing or favorite dungeon moments and win Cataclysm prize packages worth over $450, with prizes from Steelseries and Jinx!

Steelseries, creators of the SHIFT keyboard (the next generation of the ZBoard), has just announced that it will soon offer a key set specifically for MMO players. We have already seen the Cataclysm-specific licensed product; my impressions from BlizzCon of that keyboard are here. Everything on the keyboard is customizable, which is great and might be a better alternative to the Cataclysm keyboard for people who play multiple MMOs.

When I was at BlizzCon, I asked myself a couple of times why Steelseries doesn't actually have a generic MMO key set for the SHIFT -- but then I quickly remembered we were at BlizzCon, mecca for all things Blizzard, and I realized it might not be the ideal place to show it off. Now, however, it is here, and it looks pretty neat. We don't have a date on its availability yet, but the price of the key set should run around $24.99 (SHIFT keyboard sold separately, natch). Also, for those curious readers sending me emails about the mechanical Steelseries 6Gv2 that I picked up after BlizzCon, wanting my impressions after using the keyboard for a few weeks? Love it.
