Celebrate March murloc madness with free Taverncraft mug

Blizzard and Taverncraft are making March the month of murlocs with a pretty sweet offer. Do you like murlocs and steins? Blizzard and Taverncraft are giving away a free Warcraft mug to everyone who purchases a murloc stein during all of March.

If you were lucky enough to check out the BlizzCon Tenacious D concert, you will quickly recognize Taverncraft as the steinmaker that had to refresh Jack Black during the performance. Don't you want to be just like Jack Black? Yes, he drank from the Dragonflight Alliance stein, but you know that if he had a choice...

Blizzard has all of the details on the community blog.

Taverncraft offering 15% discounts all weekend long

We all know that the best way to enjoy a tall, frosty beverage is from a chalice fashioned from the skulls of your vanquished foes. But what's the second best way? Why, a giant World of Warcraft stein from Taverncraft, of course!

If you've always coveted these wonderful utilitarian works of art, we have good news: This weekend only, Taverncraft is offering 15% off its entire stock of collectable World of Warcraft steins. If you've been putting off ordering that sweet murloc stein or the epic Tankard O' Terror, this may be the time to bite the bullet and get it done.

According to Taverncraft's Twitter page, all you need to do to take advantage of the deal is to enter the code 5H7G3T prior to checkout.

Or you could drink the blood of your enemies in, like, a vendor trash-quality sippy cup. If you think you can pull the look off.

New Ironforge and Undercity mugs available from Taverncraft

Last month saw the release of some new designs from Taverncraft in the form of stoneware mugs, Stormwind for the Alliance and Orgrimmar for the Horde. It looks like these were just the beginning, as Taverncraft has just released two new city-based mugs. Both designs feature the artwork of James Zhang, known for his work with the WoW TCG game, and each mug is microwavable, dishwasher-safe and holds 18 ounces of liquid.

While the Ironforge mug is available for immediate shipment, fans of Sylvanas will have to wait a little while; the Undercity mugs will be available for shipment in March. Here's hoping this is a sign we'll see all of the Horde and Alliance capitals featured throughout the year! You can order the mugs through Taverncraft's website for $19.99 each.

New Stormwind and Orgrimmar mugs available from TavernCraft

Taverncraft and ThinkGeek now have available both the Alliance and Horde Taverncraft mugs for order at their respective sites, just in time for the holidays. The Alliance mug features King Varian Wrynn and the capital of Stormwind, while the Horde mug features Orgrimmar with once-Warchief Thrall. Both mugs are stoneware and are shipping in late December. Check them out at Taverncraft and ThinkGeek.

Murloc stein available for pre-order

I have bad memories of elementary school art class. My art teacher used to scare us into behaving by warning us that if we got a single drip of ceramic paint on our skin, we'd die from blood poisoning.

That said, it seems appropriate that I am now telling you that there is a new ceramic stein in Taverncraft's World of Warcraft Epic Collection steins series, featuring Azeroth's deadliest aquatic antagonists: murlocs. The mug is endearingly titled RAWGRLRLRLRRLGLRL!!! and features a Winterfin Oracle, Bluefin Murloc, and a Murloc Tidehunter. There is also a wonderfully creepy, open-mouthed murloc head protruding from the stein's pewter lid. Unlike ceramics class, this stein won't kill you ... Well, it shouldn't kill you.

The mug will ship in September, and is currently available for a pre-order price of $89.99 USD until Sunday, June 13th, 2010. After that, the normal price of $99.99 USD will apply.

Taverncraft is responsible for various other licensed World of Warcraft steins, which you can find on their website.

Blizzard announces Rise and Fall of the Lich King screenshot contest

Blizzard's community team is working like crazy before the holidays -- just a few days after the dessert contest kicked off, they've now announced a screenshot contest, this one centering on "The Rise and Fall of the Lich King." Basically, they want you to take a screenshot of your character somehow fighting the Scourge, and in return, they're giving away 11 steins. Ten lucky winners will pick up Rise of the Lich King steins from Taverncraft, and one lucky grand prize winner will win the #1 of 750 out of the limited quantity of signed Legendary Collection Rise of the Lich King steins released. That's actually pretty awesome -- I haven't been enticed to buy a stein yet, but I will definitely submit a screenshot to win one.

And we can even help you win -- check out our recent post on how to screenshot for tips and tricks on how to do it exactly right. Keep your photographer's eye open as you play against the Scourge this month (the contest ends on midnight January 1st, 2010), and one of your captures might pick up some real-life loot.

Razer giving away Nagas and WoW steins on Facebook

Peripherals manufacturer Razer has partnered with Taverncraft to give away a Razer Naga MMO gaming mouse and a Charge of the Great Dragonflights World of Warcraft stein to two lucky fans on Facebook. Those interested to participate in the contest must have a Facebook account and become a fan of the Razer page in order to submit an entry. Razer lists three simple steps in order to join:
  • Select your preferred beverage of choice while you game
  • Select your game of choice (presumably World of Warcraft)
  • Take a picture of you owning it up while holding said beverage
Deadline for submission of entries is on November 17, with a limit of one entry per person. The Charge of the Great Dragonflights stein, which debuted at BlizzCon last August, retails for $89.99 and features artwork from artist James Zhang on fine-grain stoneware with a solid pewter lid. The Razer Naga also appeared at BlizzCon and retails for $79.99. WoW.com did a full review of the 17-button mouse aimed specifically at MMOG players back in October.

WoW Fifth Anniversary Sweepstakes

If you're a resident of the United States, Canada, or New Zealand, kindly whack yourself on the head as a show of solidarity for other players who don't qualify for the World of Warcraft Five Year Anniversary Sweepstakes. If you are a resident of the aforementioned countries or are some Asian or European or Other-Unqualified-Country-an willing to subject themselves to a little geek envy, then read on. Our favorite game turns five this November 23, 2009, and to celebrate, Blizzard is giving away a whole bunch of swag every week for the next four weeks.

Essentially, as long as you're a player whose account is active when they pull your name out of a kodo-skin hat and hasn't gotten into trouble for breaking the EULA, you're automatically entered in the sweepstakes. Players qualify for certain prizes depending on how long they've been playing the game. Check out the list of prizes and player eligibility after the jump.
