After looking at Heroes by Kidsake last week, I wanted to take another pass at A Westfall Drama. The video enjoys a lot of the same mystique, but A Westfall Drama manages to capture a sense of loss, misery, and grief.

The music is Goddamn You, Jim by the Felice Brothers. I hadn't been aware of the song until I heard it in this video, and my hat's off to Kidsake for using such original music. The poetry of the lyrics and haunting voice supplements the video very well, matching both the tone and ponderous narration.

Kidsake really does amazing work. It's worth the wait between each of his videos, but I can't help but to hope for more.

Kidsake is back with another beautiful machinima. This one's called A Westfall Drama. I think the general flow and narrative of the story will be clear to most viewers, but I still enjoyed a lot of the specific character vagueness in the movie. Kidsake has really done a lot to bring art and interpretation to his work.

I especially enjoyed his ongoing use of interesting music. In God's Gonna Cut You Down, Kidsake made great use of Johnny Cash lyrics. In A Westfall Drama, he uses the Felice Brothers' Goddamn you, Jim. The poetry of the song's lyrics are powerful against Kidsake's animation and presentation. I continue to be impressed by this style, and hope to see it developed even further in the future.
