Around Azeroth: The simple joy of tormenting cats

"Who's a good kitteh?" asks submitter Riyahnasheed of The Evil League of Evil on Zul'jin (US-A). "You're a good kitteh! While finishing up quest lines in Spires of Arak, I found a quest that proves Blizzard has its share of cat aficionados. The Strange Crystal Shard is one of the most entertaining items I have had dropped in my bags. The only thing missing was a saberon butt-wiggle as she got ready to pounce on my impromptu laser pointer."

Around Azeroth: And that goes for your mother, too!

"Okay, this is actually in Gorgorond, between High Pass and East Watch," writes today's submitter. "I was cruising on Ttuul, my shammy, and saw these two brutes hammering it out with no one making any real progress and thought they deserved some attention. They are Sor the Eradicator and Beremus the Overgrowth, level 92 elites. There's gotta be a story there I haven't encountered yet."

Around Azeroth: The NIOSH report is forthcoming

"Keegan Firebeard did not think things through while stabling my mounts in the garrison," writes submitter Amrasillias of BiS on Eonar (EU-A). "Ten out of ten firemen would not recommend putting a Flameward Hippogryph next to a single stack of hay, let alone two stacks of hay. Long story short: I had to rebuild my garrison. Firebeard is fired, of course." (For the 99% of you who don't read the NIOSH fire fatality reports, you're welcome to check them out here.)

Around Azeroth: Silence knows, can't drown a heart

"I discovered some hidden resources in the lake at my garrison," writes submitter Rann of Earthen Ring (US-A). "As I swam back up, I was struck by how beautiful the night is in Shadowmoon Valley. Enjoy!" I suppose this is the upside to having a garrison that isn't permanently frozen over. You can go diving for resources and stare blankly at the night sky without worrying about hypothermia setting in within five minutes.

Around Azeroth: So many core hound teeth ...

Hey, vanilla raiders! Remember when someone would fall off of something in Molten Core and would manage to pull a ton of trash mobs back to the raid group, therefore dooming the other 39 people, most of whom were usually AFK at the time? And then the perpetrator would explain that he was 'just exploring?' Wasn't that just hilarious? Submitter Moonfaxx of Death Jesters on Stormrage (US-A) triggered some nasty flashbacks of those raids with their aggregation of core hounds. Now just don't remind me of the suppression room in BWL. As a rogue, I drink to forget that.

Around Azeroth: Unfinished business

"Hey there, AA!" writes today's submitter. "It's me again, your old pal -- oh. Hmmm. Maybe I ought to keep my identity on the DL for this one. You can just call me ... Deep Gnome. You see, today's screenshots are extra secret. Really juicy. Eyes-only kind of stuff. And by "eyes-only" I guess I mean everyone's eyes, since I'm giving it to you to show everyone.

Anyway, on to the pictures. I was messing around in game and found myself seeing the future! Or rather, the past. Er ... the future of the past. Yeah. It's the unfinished Tanaan Jungle as it is in game right now! This is a screenshot of that classic fortress, Hellfire Citadel (Tanaan Citadel?) As you can see, it's partially untextured. There's little else of interest in the zone so far. There's one strange rock formation, but I didn't think it picture-worthy.

Anyway, I hope you liked this glimpse of the forbidden, but that's it for to- Oh, my God. They found me. I don't know how, but they found me. Run for it!"

Around Azeroth: And the seas shall run red with blood or lava or ketchup or something

Submitter Yseora of Fights Like a Girl on Blackwater Raiders (US-A) writes, "I was running Dragon Soul a few weeks ago and at the end of the raid when Deathwing had been dealt with for the thousandth time, I couldn't help but notice how big and mysterious the whole area was and how little of it you could actually explore. Taking a swig out of my Filled Festive Mug, I ran and jumped off the edge, hoping to get to another rock. Obviously, I wasn't able to make it that far, but I was able to get to the middle of The Maelstrom. Having a rare view of the surrounding area and of Thrall/The Dragon Aspects, it was interesting to see Deathwing's view and how small even the most powerful beings in Azeroth really are."

Around Azeroth: Postcards from Draenor

Submitter Pinkbunnie of Azeroth Alliance Raiders on Ghostlands (EU-A) continues her adventures on Draenor! In this picture, taken to send home to her parents in Gnomeregan, she poses with some of her new orc friends. They don't seem particularly happy to be showing their giant strategic map to a member of the Alliance, much less a filthy pink gnomelette, but they'll get over it. At least she's having a good time.

Around Azeroth: There can only be two

"I've been making headway against the Iron Horde, but it seemed for every step forward, I'd take two back," writes submitter Dimmak of Gilneas (US-A). "I turned to my adviser Khadgar looking for help. He just shrugged off my worries though, making a joke about keeping my cool. Then he pulled out an iCrystal. 'Vargi? Yeah it's Kargi. Could you pop over to Draenor for a bit? No, my Draenor not yours. 'Kay, thanks, you're the best, buh-bye.' He tucked his iCrystal away and before he could finish saying 'Help is on the way,' poof, there he was. You know things are getting savagely dangerous when one Archmage is just not enough."

Around Azeroth: The most popular garrison in town

"I guess these are the new Community Garrisons we heard rumors about," writes submitter Eulidia of Sentinel on Wyrmrest Accord (US-A). "Budget cuts affect everyone, even dangerous near-suicide missions into another world (maybe especially those), but I still didn't expect to come back to my home away from home after another rocky server ride to find myself sharing it with several dozen other brave heroes of the Alliance. Good thing I just learned the Joy of Draenor Cooking, since someone's gonna have to feed this crowd. Now, who's up for charades?"

Around Azeroth: You make me feel like a natural woman

Submitter Pinkbunnie of Azeroth Alliance Raiders on Ghostlands (EU-A) wasted no time plunging into Draenor. But she understands that it can be dangerous for a tiny, cloth-wearing gnome to adventure alone in uncharted territory. Thankfully, she's found this field to camouflage herself in if she needs to go AFK for a bit. There's finally a use for that bright pink gnome hairdo!

Around Azeroth: What do you do when the servers are down?

"My dwarf hunter has been out of the World for a bit, so when he returned to all this news about a new Draenor he had to check it out," writes submitter Tumblestock of Renegade Knights on Black Dragonflight (US-A). "He bought an aftermarket 'HarthStoan' from a Night Elf Mohawk in Dalaran and zipped on over to that strange new world. So far it's a little ... barren, but the mining is great and he hasn't seen any of that new Iron Horde, so everything is awesome!"

Around Azeroth: Is it Thursday yet?

"Take one Arthas costume. Add a bunch of Potions of Illusions. Mix with some guild members and what do you have?" asks submitter Gimmlette of Spectacular Death on Llane (US-A). "Spectacular Death presents 'The Dancing Arthii.' Unfortunately, the potion doesn't last as long as it did when we were level 85, but when you make a whole bunch, you can keep the dance line going. We tried really hard to get them in sync because that would have been way funnier, but it's really luck that determines such things."

Around Azeroth: Bolvar is a punk rocker

Today's submitter, Kelion of Bloodmoon Chosen on Argent Dawn (US-H), snapped this strangely-angled screenshot during a failed attempt to solo 25-man heroic Lich King. First off, aren't those chains on Bolvar Fordragon a little gratuitous? There's no possible purpose for the manacles being so spiky. It looks like a Hot Topic bracelet. And second, I have definitely been on too long of a hiatus from WoW, because I looked at Kelion's guild name and thought "Gee, that looks familiar! Wait a minute. That's my guild." It's probably time to log back in and get everything set up for Warlords of Draenor.

Around Azeroth, Beta Edition: The fire inside

"My favorite bug in the Warlords of Draenor beta, hands down, was the incessant bombing from the dwarven bunker of my garrison," writes submitter Wolf. "For a few glorious hours bombs rained down, with small explosions sending NPCs flying through the air. Or at least that is what the developers told us was happening. I noticed a suspiciously large number of flying NPCs near the food wagon. I think it may have actually been a gastronomical experiment gone wrong ... bad Chipotle is very bad."
