Around Azeroth: Last dance with Mary Jane

Around Azeroth Last dance with Mary Jane MONDAY
Submitter Marduksrage of Death Angels on Korialstrasz (US-H) can take drugs or leave them. But they're much more effective if he takes them. "After finding a missing page from Jubeka's Journal, my character discovered that the real source of Kanrethad's green hue was the hookah of a certain disembodied troll in Blade's Edge Mountains. Happy 4/20!" This was actually submitted on April 20, which explains the reference, but I'm afraid that only heavy use of the aforementioned hookah can explain Marduksrage's outfit.

Around Azeroth: The battle of the cubicle

Around Azeroth The battle of the cubicle SUNDAY
While submitter Iskåldt of Equilibria on Lethon (US-A) was away at lunch, a decisive battle between orcs and humans occurred on his desk at work. The Horde thoroughly routed the Alliance by a score of one to zero, possibly with the assistance of a traitorous Horde-sympathizing coworker of Iskåldt. His victory celebrations were cut short by the deadly hand of Mickey Mouse, who accidentally crushed the orc commander while trying to hit Jack Skellington with his giant paintbrush. War is hell, folks.

Around Azeroth: Palate cleanser

Around Azeroth Palate cleanser SATURDAY
Wow, this has been one supremely unpleasant week. By the time this article is published, another disaster will probably be all over the news. Personally, I'm hoping for an event that we've previously seen in an amusing gif, like Oprah unleashing the bees or Bugs Bunny sawing off Florida. But until that time, we'll have to amuse ourselves with the classic dancing female night elf in Tel Redor, submitted by Bob. Think of the shiny happy pixels! Just focus on them! Pay no attention to the news, at least until we finally eliminate the month of April.

Around Azeroth: Never trust an engineering creation

Around Azeroth Never trust an engineering creation FRIDAY
"I was turning in my Isle of Thunder dailies one day when I saw another blue exclamation point appear on the map," writes submitter Dorotaya of Dawn of an Endless Night on Wyrmrest Accord (US-A). "Ducking behind the camp, I came upon this rather disturbing tableau: Blingtron 4000 standing over the battered corpse of a Sunreaver servant and grinning malevolently. What have you done, Bling? What have you done?"

Around Azeroth: The darkness within

Around Azeroth The darkness within THURSDAY
Life as a draenei death knight can get pretty complicated sometimes. Your friends from high school are all talking about "light" this and "holy" that, getting jobs as priests and paladins and having cute little blue babies, while you're hanging out with your zombie minion in your basement apartment watching Metalocalypse. Oh, to be free of the bleak spirit within! So submitter Amathyst of When Bored Smash Horde on Barthilas (US-A) contacted a fly-by-night exorcist to have his internal darkness removed from his body. Sadly, the damned thing just found its way back after a couple of days like a loyal but stupid golden retriever.

Around Azeroth: By the dawning of the sun, she'll take over the world

Around Azeroth By the dawning of the sun, she'll take over the world WEDNESDAY
"Why yes!" exclaims submitter Nounours of GrandGalacticInquisitor on Llane (US-A). "I most certainly do intend to take over Tanaris and then the rest of the World (of Warcraft) with my Spider-Death-Machine. How kind of you to ask!" You're trying to take over Tanaris? Way to set your sights low. Let's capture the empty scorpion-filled desert from the intoxicated pirates and the poorly-organized trolls! Next on the invasion list: Winterspring! We'll need at least a level 70 for that.

Around Azeroth: The achievement that ate my brain

Around Azeroth The achievement that ate my brain TUESDAY
Submitter Exys of Invalid Target on Mal'Ganis (US-H) has stalled out at level 80 so she can gear up her death knight for the Herald of the Titans achievement. Although this isn't the craziest achievement possible (see: I Thought He Was Supposed To Be Hard) or the most time-consuming (see: Insane in the Membrane), it's still pretty rare, especially considering how difficult it must be to find a group to get level-appropriate gear nowadays. Exys took this screenshot after she caught Malygos's aggro and perished in the Eye of Eternity. Ah, it makes me nostalgic for the days of Wrath, before I got dumb and had a kid, when I was able to play for more than fifteen consecutive minutes.

Around Azeroth: Eros and Thanatos

Around Azeroth Eros and Thanatos MONDAY
We've featured these two dead dinosaurs on Around Azeroth before -- they're one of my favorite little nuggets of scenery in Pandaria. Submitter Valjae of Only the Strong on Aegwynn (US-A) apparently feels the same way, because she's chosen the remains of these doomed reptilian lovers as the site of her first blind date since her divorce. These morbid tendencies might shed some light on why her husband left her for that skanky night elf. Go find yourself a nice Forsaken, girl!

Around Azeroth: Just a good ol' boy, never meaning no harm

Around Azeroth Just a good ol' boy, never meaning no harm SUNDAY
Doop a doo doo doo. Don't mind me, folks. I'm just walkin' over to the auction house to check on my bids. Afterwards I'm planning on doing a little fishin', maybe fry up some catfish. Oh, this? On my forehead? It's just a Mephistophelean symbol of pure evil, you know, a sigil through which the Dark Lord can channel his forces into this dimension. It's nothing to be worried about. Hey, did you see Duck Dynasty last night? Wait, where are you going? And where did all these priests and paladins come from? Come on, dude! I thought we were cool! (Thanks to submitter Inkuoh of No Way on Quel'Thalas [EU-H] for the screenshot!)

Around Azeroth: This is my ribbon of many colors

Around Azeroth This is my ribbon of many colors SATURDAY
"I was just flying by Menethil and I happened to notice all of these Alliance and Horde laying down on the lake like this," writes submitter Dreyfusxano of Focus on Durotan (US-A). "Upon closer inspection, they were laying down on the lake in the formation of a multi-colored ribbon. With April being Autism Awareness Month, and just learning that I had Asperger's about a year ago, I wanted to start doing my part to advocate for autism. This felt like a good step in the right direction. Needless to say, everyone who participated in this ended up leaving with wet backs and robes."

Around Azeroth: Everybody wants to be a panda

Around Azeroth
"The Pandarization of Azeroth is complete," writes submitter Gimmlette. "After seeing all these people with such interesting gear come to visit him, Arthas decided that he needed to find out what this tranmogrification business was all about. But because he can't leave the Frozen Throne, he did the next best thing. He started the assimilation of the first pandaren he could reach, Munkendronk from Spectacular Death on Llane [US-A]. While the group thought the hat really highlighted the armor, ultimately, they preferred their tank with them and not trying to keep the Scourge at bay."

Around Azeroth: Werewolves of Stormwind

Around Azeroth Werewolves of Stormwind THURSDAY
I'll admit that $25 can seem like a lot for a race change. But if you really, truly believe that you're a worgen at heart, it might be the easiest option. Dressing up like a werewolf and hanging out on the rooftops of Stormwind every full moon is going to get pretty time-consuming. The real worgen are laughing at your ridiculously oversized paw-gloves. (Thanks to submitter Kikibear of Titans Nightmare on Silver Hand [US-A] for the screenshot!)

Around Azeroth: I thought they smelled bad on the outside

Around Azeroth I thought they smelled bad on the outside WEDNESDAY
Ah, Winterspring! It was an isolated glacial wasteland before isolated global wastelands were cool. Submitter Mark is apparently the only player on Earth to still do Umi Rumplesnicker's quests in Everlook. It's a good thing someone did, though, since this neat little The Empire Strikes Back reference quest was added in Cataclysm. Just like Luke Skywalker on Hoth, Mark found himself suspended in ice and had to cut himself free, although sadly he did not receive a lightsaber for a reward.

Around Azeroth: I'm gonna pop some tags, only got twenty dollars in my pocket

Around Azeroth I'm gonna pop some tags, only got twenty dollars in my pocket TUESDAY
It's hard to dress your character on a budget. It's hard and nobody understands. Submitter Ezekington of Ancient Order of UMs on Doomhammer (US-A) wanted to pick up a nice formal outfit to wear to occasions when the usual roguish skull, spikes and leather wouldn't cut it. He rummaged through his bank slots and only found a couple of spare Coins of Ancestry. That Festive Purple Dress looked just great on the night elf model, so it would work fine for him, right? Wrong.

Around Azeroth: Going green

Around Azeroth Going green MONDAY
It's pretty amazing what lengths people in this game will go to for minor aesthetic changes to their character. Running endless dungeons for transmog gear, spending hundred of thousands of gold on jewelcrafting mounts, and of course leveling and training battle pets so they can have the rarest companion possible. Now with the introduction of the green fire quests in Patch 5.2, warlocks can undergo an entire questline to change the color of their spells. Submitter Pinkbunnie of Azeroth Alliance Raiders on Ghostlands (EU-A) has been trying to get her green fire since March 24 and finally defeated Kanrethad a few days ago. Congratulations!
